Are these tips going to include not staying up past five in the morning drinking with Dave O'Maley?

Forget the hangover.. how many hours does it take for alcohol to clear out of your system? If I'd been an officer of that event and knew the circumstances, you would not have competed that day.

Hot, tired, grumpy, but looking forward to tomorrow. See you there!

p.s. Don't bring pennies. They cut the grass in the infield this afternoon, but you would still have a hard time finding them after Gwen rejected payment :)

I wanted to give a big hearty thanks to Art for making this day happen.

I have to say this has been one of the best autocross days I have ever had. The instruction, course time and mock auto-x were all excellent. I feel I got more out of today than the EVO school earlier this year. :redcool:

I know I learned more today in controlling my car just how well I performed.

Also, big thanks to all the instructors, David S, Jim F, Jim P and I apologize for not remembering who instructed the other group but thanks are do you as well.

We should have a great showing next weekend during the NCAC. Let's go kick some butt. :nana:

^x2!

I'm bummed I didn't get to run the mock AX (everyone check thier car for a missing 10mm bolt  ), but the drills and instruction were the most valuable part of the day for me. "Pick up the throttle as soon as you can" was the biggest eye-opener for me, and completely changed how I thought about driving alot of the elements. And looking ahead, of course - waaaaay ahead.
Rodney Wright, look out I might be within a second of you next time

Thanks to Art for getting this organized, and Jim F, Jim P, and David for thier instruction, and Stephen, Gwen, and everyone else who helped out.

I want to throw out a BIG thanks to Jim Pastorius for coming out and helping with everything during the day. Despite being away from the auto-x scene for a while, he selflessly sacrificed an entire day (more, really) to help out everybody. The practice courses he designed were perfect for illustrating all the major concepts of the sport and the course in the afternoon was a total blast to drive. Thanks Jim!

Also thanks to Art for organizing this thing. It definitely seemed to be a great warmup to the NCAC as well as any future events for everybody. I hope everybody came away from the event better than when they arrived and had fun in the process. I know I learned a little and had a great time as well.

Jim

Thanks to all the folks that helped make this event happen. And special thanks to Jim Pastorius for really making a large sacrifice for the benifit of the club. His engine in the camero is still in need of work yet he came on Saturday to help us. That's what I call a standup guy.
Thanks to Jim Feinberg, David Spratte, Chris Peterson and Les Davis for all the good instruction, and to Art and Stephen for making this thing happen. If I left anyone out forgive me, I'm old.
If you had the opportunity to attend this event and didn't, you've made a big BIG mistake . You had the chance to attend an EVO Quality school and didn't take it. Thats not just my opinion, several folks stated that sentiment during the school. I'm still amazed that only about thirty members took advantage of this.

Art,
Thanks for stepping up and chairing the practice yesterday. Also, thanks to Jim P, Jim F, Chris, David, and Les for taking on the task of being thrown around in car after car after car all day. Thanks to Jim P for setting up two courses that forced us all to think and drive the correct line. The other two AX VP’s, Dustin and Stephen were also present. Thanks to Stephen for coming, helping with T&S. Oh, and not even having a car to drive. It’s a THSCC club thing!

I learned a lot, and I hope to sort it all out and put it to use next weekend. It’s interesting to have so many talented drivers in our club who are willing to share their thought processes concerning our sport.

If you didn’t come, you missed out on more runs than you could count, great instruction, and the low key friendship that this club is all about. It was a great day. Looking forward to seeing you all next weekend!

Gwennie

Well, it would have been 32 Bernie if we could have made it. Jackie moved into GA Tech this weekend, but we both sure wanted to make the event!

I'm still so sad that I couldn't make this event, argh. Needless to say, yesterday wasn't exactly "fun" for me, but I know I did the right thing by not going :(.

Great day. Thanks to Jim P. and Art for organizing it.

Also special thanks to Jim F. for letting me abuse his CRX. That car is ridiculously fun. On street tires. :P

Let me add my thanks to all who made this happen. That includes organizers, course designer, instructors, and any others who held make this a geat event. A stock was well represented with 5 drivers and another AS on street tires. Lots of runs, great instruction, great weather, and a fast afternoon course. Thanks again.

You forgot to thank Les for almost killing you!!!!

I agree with Chris. This was more helpful than my last Evo school. Thanks to everybody that made this happen, especially Art and Jim P. I'd like to run that course in an autocross sometime.

See all of next weekend. Who's up for dinner Friday night around 8:00?

I'm glad everybody enjoyed the event. Thank you to Gwen and Bernie for encouraging me to push this along and more importantly for all of the logistical help with the bus, the computer, registration, buying ice for the coolers, etc, etc. Thanks to Stephen for making the arrangements with the airport and coming out to help. (Contrary to Gwen's posting, Stephen got to drive - Walter's Camaro - and I watched him drive it all over the blessed place :)) Thank you especially to the instructors, Jim F, Les, Chris and David, since I made you pay the same entry fee as the students so that the financials would work out. Thank you for your contribution to your fellow club members! And, as has already been noted in this thread, Jim Pastorious did a wonderful job as course designer and chief instructor. (Jim, I hope you get Barney sorted out in time to go racing)

I am glad everyone enjoyed the day. It was a lot of fun to get back out and see old faces and meet some new people. Of all the schools I have put on or instructed at, this was by far the best group of students.

One suggestion I would make for future schools would be to set up a video camera shooting the course. Or take a group of the students working the course and have them watch from the start. It is amazing what you can see and learn for just watching.

Did anybody pickup an extra sprayer at the school? I left my low-dollar Walmart special right at the taxiway/crossover intersection I believe. It is white and has a piece of blue painter's tape on the handle. If you did happen to pick it up and are attending the NCAC this coming weekend, would you mind bringing it along?

Thanks,

Jim
