I made an assumption about next year that Scott questioned. Simply stated, the question is....

Are we going to continue to have the "gentlemens agreement" to run street tires in DS for 2004?

I didn't really want to spend money on stickys, but if this is the way everyone wants to go, so be it. I would like to go on record as wanting to run streets one more year.

Last year, I changed cars 3 times and finally have something I like to drive. I wanted to go one more year before I break out the sticky tires. I may go ahead and stay w/ streets anyway. I've had my ass kicked for the last 2 years....why not make it 3!!

If I still have the WRX next season I'll definitely be on Azenis. I guess they still count as street tires... :?

If we run open class, then, yes, we will run on Azenis "street" tires. I'll make Sally run Pro if we go with race tires.

If Pro class were eliminated, then I'm sorry, all bets are off.

Right now I'm spending too much money on the old Celica to be able to afford race tires for the new one...

Pro Class
The best drivers in the club enter in Pro Class for 2 reasons:
1. to compete directly against each other regardless of class, and
2. to give drivers in the Open Classes a better chance to win.
If you have been dominating your class and have been scoring consistently in the Top 10 Indexed Times, you are strongly encouraged, though not required, to run Pro Class.

Also, if you are a visiting Pro Class caliber driver, you are requested to run in the Pro Class instead of a regular Open Class so as not to upset regular club members' Open Class season points races.

I do not see anything in THSCC description of Pro Class that mentions tires.

Is Mark Musser on the forum yet? If so, he really needs to grab those "free" BMW wheels (I doubt they are even available any more).

Who else was running DS in 2003?

We should recruit Simon Wright into this deal, drag him out of tire class.

I've been considering it if only to stop Jim's incessant nagging and whining. I just know it means that I'll be throwing more money at my car. However since one of my two sons has just graduated perhaps I can find some loose change around here.

You are so full of crap. It is people like you that take the spirit out of the TIR class. You have a set of tires specially mounted on an extra set of rims for the TIR class. You incurred this additional expense through no fault of me or anyone else. You did it on your own.

You are a prime example of why this class has been eliminated by other clubs.

So why don't you take your dedicated AX tires on your dedicated rims and run in open DS? Actually it will cost you nothing. You will be on equal footing with the other competitors in DS. Hell, they have even stated if they showed up on R compound tires, they would run in pro as not to mess with points.

What a double standard, you don't want to incur additional costs to be competitive in open, but you will force others to incur additional costs to be competitive in tire.

I'm out on this topic. Do whatever you makes you feel good.
