oh, I understand, I tried to clarify my original post, sorry if I came off as angry about it, clearly if the insurance company forbids it explicitly, then we shouldn't do it. I should have chosen my language a bit more carefully. . .

That's interesting. I believe they use the same insurance co (K&K) that we do.

What is our current policy? I know we don't allow novices to ride with novices but by your post I'm guessing we don't allow non-competitors to ride along with experienced folk?

...but some members take it upon themselves to forbid it (for the record, I'm not angry at this person, they were just trying to look out for the club, and I applaud that).

Quite likely it was me. I pulled at least a half dozen people out of cars at that event, and I know I didn't get a fraction of the riders there. But, as has been stated, this is an insurance thing, and we clarified this position after that event.

don't think it was you actually, but its of little consequence who it was, as they were doing what they were supposed to do. [joke]Stupid lawyers always have to ruin our fun. [/joke]

Worry not, now I know that if a friend wants to ride, they HAVE to sign up and run themselves as well. Just a suggestion, if you want to be able to enforce the rule, you might have participants and spectators get different colored wristbands, I got away with it for quite a while until I got caught (I'm coming clean). Maybe thats more trouble than its worth though, I dunno.

Anyone know if you can run multi-driver cars with triad? I have heard that they do things differently (all run done in one session). Just wondering if you could take a 3 driver car to one of their events. Also do they have ladies class?

Thanks!

I believe they have traditional ladies classes. CSL for you of course. Not sure about running 3 drivers though I think I've seen Scott Sawyer's CRX being run into the ground at a few TSCC events.

They have indexed ladies classes. (ie. Ladies stock, Ladies street touring, Ladies Mod, etc...)

Malia,
Yes, they have Ladies, but they do it a little differently. They have Stock Ladies, Mod Ladies, Prepared Ladies and Tire Ladies. Personally, I like our way better, but different strokes, etc.

You can only run 2 drivers per heat generally. They break the day into 4 heats so as long as you split one of the drivers out into another heat, you're fine. That's assuming they split the classes favorably such that everybody can run in their respective class at the appropriate time.

If you're trying to run 3 drivers in the same class, you'd have to ask one of the officers to see if they can accommodate it. My guess is that it would be a pain logistically and your car/tires might not be that happy about it either.

As far as the K&K Insurance coverage goes. TSCC has the policy and the application for insurance on their website. It pretty much says only participants in cars. It also says that having a passenger participant is at the sole discretion of the event host. Nowhere does it say a spectator can ride in a car.

Look here; http://auto-x.com/rules.php
Scroll down to TSCC Suplementary Files (PDF Format)

That's interesting. Neither does it say that spectators must sign a waiver. Not that it seems like a bad idea...

I would say definitely show up. I have a feeling there attendance is going to be a little light since Sanford is a little further than most of their members are use to traveling for an event. I've never seen them turn anyone away. I will be there.

I can't pass this one up, it's just over twenty minutes away for me. Any suggestions on when to get there? I'm an early riser, but I don't want to be there before they open the gates.

I'm interested to see how many THSCC folks do show up. Could be really interesting.
