Ha! First post :P - there's an advantage to living in Southern Pines.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who put on the AX today - another really fun course (there hasn't been a THSCC course I haven't really enjoyed), and even with the glitches having 5 runs was great - especially since I knocked off 2secs in the last run.

Jeb - I want me some tires  !

Yeah, that was lots of fun! Great course, and a very fun car to co-drive.

Time to revist our fixed run-group splits. Also, it seems people need a better reminder about picking up their trash :(

Awesome course! Easily one of the best I've run at Laurinburg. Kudos to Marcus and Karl for a job well done!

I don't remember being this tired after an event. Even though I stayed well hydrated, I guess the first big dose of heat for the year caught up with me and my chained-to-a-desk air-conditioned self.

More tomorrow when my brain starts functioning again...

Jim

I posted this in the visitors section knowing that not everyone at our events is a member, but please take the time to read it. It doesn't need any "blamestorming" to go with it really. Just a simple message.

Most of our members are very good about leaving the sites clean.

thanks to the club for providing water at the site..... real life savers even though I brought my own I ended up grabbing a few.

All that was missing was a tanker load of add ant spray. :o It was amazing to see just how many of those damn things were in the pit area.

The O'Connell clan (and friends) had fun today, great layout. Thanks guys.

Thanks guys. Marcus, Stephen and I really enjoyed trying to do "something a little different" at Laurinburg this weekend. I of course had a great time with a codriver in the S2000, and I think Mike kind of likes the car  Kind of disappointed to have coned away that 66.9 on my last run, but it was the last run, nudged with the back of the car "just enough."

Well, with all I was involved with between Friday evening taking the bus to my house, to dropping it off about an hour ago (thanks for the ride Mike!), and everything else, I am a shell of my former self. More tomorrow.

Nice to be back involved in the behind the scenes stuff at Tarheel autocrosses. Didn't know I missed it as much as I did.

Karl and Marcus, thanks for a great course. I really appreciated that it was a course where different lines were “available”. I tried the large sweeper at the end of the runway two different ways in the morning-both were terrible. Thanks, Jim F. for the head’s up on a third (and more successful option!) My favorite part was the diagonal slalom after the gate on the front side. On the mat and the rev limiter, really cool! Thanks for finding something different for L’burg! Who knew?

What was the magic 3rd option? I thought I saw a straight line out of the sweeper, but understeered past it every time.

a very fun course, but I need to remember to bring my ant spray next time, I got totally munched, and now I'm all swollen up in a couple spots :(

NEVER setting our shelter up that close to the field again, and I'm NEVER making the mistake of wearing flip flops for any part of the day there. I didn't remember them being this bad last time, but I've learned my lesson for sure now.

I got that idea from a Triad event I ran in G'boro a couple of months ago. We set it up a little different and a lot faster than they had it.

I was kind of worried the course would be too tight. :o Glad everybody enjoyed it.

Hats off. Nice work guys.

I really like courses where the design gives drivers enough line to hang themselves with.

I knew I should have gotten more than one coursewalk in.
It probably hurt Kendt more than helped in getting that first ridealong. Unless he was able to pick up on what not to do in one lap.

I'll hope to get shots up this week. I've get them all on the local drive. I need to edit and post then upload. In car too.

Great course. Enjoyed it, just wish I had driven better. (maybe .012 better) :x I enjoyed the gate at the back of the P that looked tight but ended up being a fast element.
