Like I said, I just want to hit a tree before the DC ProSolo. So that way when I'm there, I'm not distracted by the tall shiny thing with the pretty lights.

I'll be slow in my 170HP FWD car, so Brice doesn't have an excuse.

Friday afternoon, they have a session to review the ProSolo tree. They work with you through practice starts and give you advice and tips. This is before the normal practice starts. Make sure you get into that session.

I skipped it last time I was in DC and it really showed with my reaction times measured in minutes...

Yeah. I'm planning on getting up there fairly early. Maybe I'll start a roll call page. I know Jim's going, who else?

Bryan and I will be there... to practice our 2000 rpm, pray it does give us a lot of wheelspin and invoke traction control, starts

Dangit! I was hoping for every advantage I could get. :oops:

Jackie wanted to try a ProSolo, but when I registered us the SCCA hadn't yet sent her member number. Hence I did the entry for both of us under my member number. They can't change the record until the event is "downloaded in June.” I had originally planned on taking the M5 in ESP, but Ground Control has just finished their updated front strut setup for the E39 M5 last week...sigh. Took forever but I think it will be a really nice setup but just not in time for this event.

We should be there co-driving the 330i, but I know almost NOTHING about a ProSolo other than what I have read. If anyone has a "guide to going to a ProSolo" link, that would be helpful. We want to be there for the practice starts on Friday, and it appears you have to purchase tickets...wonder when and where you do that? Once you get there? Sorry for the twenty questions. We’re pondering going up to Roxboro 1/8th mile strip so she can practice starting with a tree – they have test ‘n tunes every Wednesday night.

I'm in the same boat Chuck. I hadn't renewed my membership at the time of registration and couldn't find my card. Adam registered twice under his name and I'll be put in when the event is downloaded.

Chuck B, if you and Jackie get up there early on Friday you can participate in a free mini-clinic that helps orient you to the entire process. I'm not sure what time it starts but I believe the information is posted somewhere on the SCCA website.

The practice tickets are available on-site on Friday and you should be able to get as many starts as you need to feel comfortable. I believe the mini-clinic gives you a couple of free starts as well but I'm not sure about that.

It should be a great event and I'm looking forward to it!

No worries Chuck. I can help you with anything you will need. We'll be there prior to practice starts, so I can guide you through it. Basically, you get there and pick a paddock spot.

Get your car ready to 'race', by pulling all of the loose stuff, getting your wheels and tires on (for practice starts, you may just want to put the rear tires on and have the fronts in the car if you plan on going to the hotel in that car.) Take the car to the tech area (usually pretty well labeled) and have them tech it for you. You can get all of the required decals at tech (Tirerack banner, SCCA ProSolo decal, Hawk Brake decal, SCCA decal). When going to tech, remember to bring your helmets and all the tires you plan to run for the weekend. Their tech procedure is no different than THSCC's except that you come to them.

After you get teched, you go to the SCCA trailer and buy practice start tickets. When it comes to technique on the start, I can help you and Jackie at the site. At DC, you will likely need to use the handbrake at the start, and we can talk about a very easy way to do this and run consistent high fives to low 6's on the tree.

It's a shame that the Crossfire won't allow me to do a big smokey burnout like the RX-8

It's Fed Ex field. Search Redskins football stadium. It's held in one of the the lots there. - AB

That's funny-- I always have the same problem finding information about the actual location of the event. In the past, if I wasn't traveling with others, it was always hard to find the exact location. I've found the best approach is to try and find the local region's website and they usually have great directions to the site.

In this case, finding FedEx field is pretty easy. You can go to the website for FedEx field (really the Redskins) and they have decent directions.

I dug up this old post about the mini-clinic that Andy Hollis posted a while back in sccaforums:
