Dustin probably beat you because he knows how to drive a car with a MT. :nana:

I will soon call Rockingham and try to set us up special lanes for the bracket race.

Now I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer and I've never been drag racing but I don't understand this statement. Do they reserve special lanes for us in grid or something? Obviously they only have 2 lanes to actually race on (unless they've done something since the last time I've been there) so this must have something to do with lining up to actually race? Please help a noob understand...

Yeah, I'm referring to staging lanes of which I think there are 8 or 10. The special reserved lanes allow us to run a separate bracket race.

yeah, I'm also curious as to what time this will be happening. Not sure if I wanna run, but I might wanna come watch (I drive a 160 hp FWD car. . .)

vs. me w/170hp, crappy tires, and a tall 1st gear - sounds like a showdown to me :P

Ok, I finally got email confirmation from the Rock as I could never get them on the phone. Its on like Donkey Kong this Saturday night. Gates open at 6 practice runs begin at 7. We probably won't start the bracket race until 8:30 or 9 to give people plenty of time to practice and set their dial in. They will be setting aside two lanes for us to line up in to do our runs.

Anyone know where you can find something other than shoe polish to mark the window with dial-in? I used to get something called liquid chalk which worked ok, but I don't know if that is still available.

I'm also gonna need a hotel room Saturday night, any non-snorers have a spare bed?

These look pretty cool:

I forget the way to make a short hyperlink with html tags

I would think you could use any paint marker, they should scrape off with a glass scraper...might want to verify this first on a test piece in case I'm wrong.

I haven't done this before, but can two people share a car? I think Adam wants to come also and would probably want to drive the Mustang also.

Can someone weigh in on this?

OK, I think my boss is going to be there, too (if he stops whining about burning up his tires - why buy a Saleen and not run it?!)

Mind if I announce this on a Focus forum? Or are we trying to keep the numbers under control, or mainly THSCC?

Not sure how that would work, but seems like it would be possible. That would be something to work out with the track. I email back and let you know what the response is.
