Could someone explain Timing/Scoring for the Super Regional this weekend?
Will it be:
Best time of Sat + Sunday,
Sat and Sunday treated as 2 events,
Something else?
I’m curious because I’ve noticed in entries some gals, Donna Frank, for example, are entered in Ladies on one day and Open on the other. Also, some other gals, who I would expect to be preparing for National competition, are only entered on one day. Personally, my competition is VERY steep, so I’m really looking forward to the weekend as seat time and a great learning experience, but expecting the get soundly spanked.

Gwen - looks like it is two days, scored separately. So people can either drive one day or both days. We'll see you there!

Thanks, Chris. I’m really looking forward to this. Imagine this level of competition within an hour from home! See you there.

I actually thought it was both. You can do one or both days and each day will be scored separately, but they are also going to combine days for those who do both (in the same class) and post those, too.

At least that's how I thought it was going to work.

Sorry guys, that's as far as my info (see link above) goes. No mention of possibly scoring both days together - but that doesn't mean they won't do that.

I believe for the events at Danville, it is being scored at 2 single events only. The only events that are scored as a single entity are the National Tours such as Dixie and the upcoming Huntsville Tour.

A region has the option of requesting a single day of competition for a Super Regional but in cases where we compete over 2 days regionally, they are still scored separately. At least that's how I understand it.

Hey, that's cool. It looks like if Rick can get the car together, I can beat Donnie twice in one weekend 8) - AB

That is correct Jim. AFA points towards the championship each day of the super regional events will be counted and scored as a separate event with the appropriate points awarded by finish each day. The two Nat Tour events will be scored as a two day single event with the same finish order as scored by SCCA, but will be awarded double points based on your overall finish. Confused? If you aren't accumulating Div championship points don't worry about it, if you are, then ask Heyward to explain it before you decide what class to run. Donna originally signed up for Ladies since she has ASL points from Dixie Tour and expected more of those competitors to show. But since she seems to be the only one entered in ASL she has now switched to open for both days to have someone to run against.
Gwen, don't go in with the attitude that you are going to get spanked, or it will become a self fulfilling destiny. Always go into every event with the outlook that you can and will win!

Chuck, don't believe for one minute that she has a defeatists attitude, that's her southern polite way of saying I'm going to do my damnest to kick ass, but you'll never hear her say that. Check out the quote by Henry Ford on her posts, she won't get hung by her tongue.

I'm stoked to see Ezelius making the trip up.

I'm going to try and just drive (of course, I'll be talking to myself) and avoid the trap of overthinking that seems to track out right after an Evo school.

Kumho, etc don't payout at the Regional levels do they?

Maybe an ITR in DS.

So I gather you and Rick worked out a codrive thing? If so, cool! One more AS driver. According to myautoevents.com, that brings us to fourteen (!! ) drivers Sunday, 12 Saturday. That's pretty bad assed. STS and STS2 will also be battles royale - STS exploded, with 17 drivers on Sunday!

Any fence sitters should pull the trigger and sign up. There's some serious talent coming to this thing.

Aaron...what's the "Bait and Tackle" reference? I think I missed a memo. My team name is a bit more obvious :!:

If his car will be ready, we're going to do it. If not, he'll drive the RX-8.

As for the Bait and Tackle thing, everyone else was making references to Donnie, so I figured even in BS I could have a Donnie Barnes reference :)

I hope that your shocks fit Rick's car. - AB

Another cool thing about us all being in AS is that I will have the DL-1 too, so that would be you & Eric, me and Rick and Donnie & Chris to all overlay data on ;) - AB

You and me both.

Here's hoping that they fit, and that the course will allow me to use these impossibly wide Hoosiers without having to go to 3rd gear too much, The late S2000's gearing is quite short. 2nd is good to 57 or so? Junior and I were all up in some rev limiter at the Evo school a couple weeks ago, and that was a shortish course...

Unfortunately, we're using my Traqmate, which while flippin' sweet, doesn't allow us to play in this regard. Not as far as I know, anyway. Maybe there's a niche for me there, coding some compatibility stuff.

Regardless, it'll be fun times. I'm pretty amped up. Awesome that you guys decided to codrive - the more, the merrier I say.

On edit: I changed my team information to reflect both the Sandbox and the support KONI is giving me. The shocks, so far, kick ass.
