After talking to Gwen today about her WIN :woo: at the Nashville speedway. I started thinking about speedways in our area that might be suitable for auto cross. There's one in Kenly that might fill the bill. It's .4 tenths of a mile with a paved infield and no fixed inside walls. The walls you see in the site pictures are movable, and the infield has parking for eighty(80) NASCAR eighteen wheelers. the only obstructions are the tech building and toilets. check it out at http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source= ... 8&view=map

and http://snrp.sargentmotorsports.com/
Did I mention Gwen WON her first national tour event at Nashville and Jim Feinberg was in first in open when I last spoke to her.

Way to go Gwen! Nice driving and congrats on the win.

Send that hotshoe in the Mini some new Hoosiers!

Bernie, that track in Kenly looks quite promising and is a lot more open and free of obstructions in the infield than most of the tracks I've seen. This is definitely something worth looking into. Kenly's not too far either.

from the website:

"Track is no longer active, and domain is for sale"

Would this make it easier or harder to use? Seems a tougher venue if it's an inactive track, but IIRC people still ran at Rockingham after it got dropped from the NASCAR circuit.

It was just bought by someone so it has an owner

I'm pretty sure we investigated this back when I was Prez and something just didn't work about it. Hopefully Vincent will chime in.

So...thinking outside the box a bit, does this mean a mid-week night series would be possible?
