I haven't been to a THSCC (or any others  ) event since Greenville last year when all timed runs for a class were run in one heat/run group and the classes were split into 4 groups.

What is the plan for the April 1 event?

If "traditional" Tarheel (i.e "morning" and "afternoon" sets of runs), is Mod still in the second of the two groups?

Also, what is the db limit and will sound be measured so that I can find out how quiet my car is with its muffler? (as I recall my low compression mild cam engine is quieter WITHOUT a muffler than some other cars with a muffler.

Thanks!

Most likely we will be doing the format in which all runs are done at once, and mod class will be in the second group.

Thanks. I assume 4 groups to keep the course working time reasonable. Correct?

The grid is postage stamp sized, but sequestered away from the pits. It just made sense the last time that we tried it. Doing three wholesale changes is logistically simpler than doing the traditional A and B lines.

Won't change worker time one bit. Everyone still works for 1/4 of the day. You see half as many cars doing twice as many runs.

Mike,

Understood. Just wanted to be sure that by being in the second group it would be second of four. I suspect that my work group will be either 3rd or 4th but I'll be prepared for 1st.

P.S. I'm looking forward to nice warm/hot tires for all but the first run (weather permitting). Slicks love heat. :D

Which is why I probably don't need to worry about having a muffler . . .

I've got a muffler, kind of. You have nothing to worry about.

I must be getting old, i don't care for that loud anymore. Maybe I need a Mini

Stuffing steel wool into your tail pipes is technically not a muffler

You know about that? I guess you were at the starting line 2 years ago when I blew it off the tail pipe!

Vincent has convinced me to do some track stuff. The wife says I have to have a roll bar and I want to put some C5 front brakes and cooling ducts on first. I probably should change the 4.10 gears out to 3.42s.

I would change the gears, not a big deal for you. I would leave the brakes alone, just upgrade the front pads to some Hawk Blues. Although I really like the Ferodo DS2500's. Then bring it out.

If you enjoy it, then think about the roll bar. Personally, I wish I had gone with a cage and saved some money. Anyone want to buy a 6pt roll bar?

As for the all the brake upgrades...give it a little time :-)
