A few Tar Heelers were there, but in case anyone wants to see what the course looked like, I posted video:

You picked a great day to have fresh rubber and AWD.

That was last year's rubber. The AWD probably helped, though.

just a tad... 40 degree temps sure didn't help the grip for the multiwheel drive challenged.

My uneducated guess is that the cold temps weren't worth 2.1 seconds.

I could be wrong. - AB

No, I'd also include experience and familiarity. Donnie did a great job!

Or luck. My first run was my first time on new shocks. The video I posted was my second run (which would have been good for third fastest raw time) and was my first run after a major shock adjustment. Left them that way for all successive runs, and the car felt pretty good. So I got fairly lucky to hit a decent shock setup, since these shocks have something like 32 clicks of adjustment on each one (single adjuster, but they are DAs).

Maybe I should never touch them again! ;)

I didn't do an external mic (just forgot about it), so while I did have some sound, it's somewhat muffled. But then for some reason my post-process editing lost the sound entirely. Will fix that next time. It was muffled enough that it didn't much matter on this one anyway.

I'm gonna purchase Track Vision now. I got data this weekend for most runs, so hopefully I got data and video of the same runs and thus can generate a new video with data overlay.

If my runs had had sound on tape, it would have recorded a tapestry of three to five syllable expletives.

Okay, another cut of the video, this time with data overlayed on it. You can't make out the "dot" moving around the coursemap because of YouTube. If you don't care, please watch it here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBKWe0Z_Vss

If you do care and want to download a higher res version (still a little compressed from original, however), go here and download and view it:

http://www.donniebarnes.com/~djb/run2.wmv

It won't work right in Firefox, but should work fine in IE (will load WMP and buffer). That version is 9MB.

This was done using my DL-1 data and the TrackVision software. Ryan, it now has sound, you hoser.
