FYI two of my three cones (for the day) were in a open area near the start. The stupid driver turned too soon in an area with PLENTY of room . . . two runs in a row . . . fortunately they were slow runs anyway. The cone on my last (and fastest scratch run) was from trying too hard in the BIG Chicago box. I straightened it out at one end or the other (car is wider than I recalled  ). I would have liked the elements after the first slalom to be "open" on the exit. (Especially after working station 3 for fourth run group. ) All the other elements were fine for me . . . but then my car is narrow, hit peak cornering g's of 1.5 g's, and does have rather quick response.

Oh yeah, staying up to 3:15 with Dave O'Maley doesn't make for a pleasant morning.

I overheard him telling Jinx that there was positively a 42 in the car. I think he just ran out of runs.

I'm just now starting to look at the data from the Traqmate - getting all the noise from dicking around in grid out of my runs is proving a challenge - but it's already pretty telling. I'm braking harder than Eric, and in other spots, it's kind of a crapshoot. He's overall better than me on lateral Gs and acceleration, so, well...there's your 1.75 seconds. The data doesn't lie.

Good to know that I've got a "no excuses" car sitting out in the driveway. Just like racing the ITC Civic and the ITA Miata. It's done - now, I just have to work on me...

I assume you mean pax for Sunday since Eric won AS.

GH Sharp, Jinx Jordan, Eric Peterson, Jim Feinberg, Dick R IF I remember correctly. Obviously a small car course.

Triad intends to post results and then to send them to CCR and the Southeast folks.

Dick

I had a good time in Rick's car... Thanks Rick! It took a bit of getting used to at first, but driving it to the limit can be challenging. Fortunately, Eric let me get the win on Saturday even though he had a faster raw. Getting FTD for Saturday was a surprise, especially considering the car had more in it.

Sunday I had cones on all 4 of my runs, and could only manage a raw time within .4 seconds of Eric. He was driving great and my 5th run I had a moment in the return long chicago box that cost me a chunk, so I could only muster a 44.4 (which I was told was clean, but others are telling me otherwise;) ) Regardless, I enjoyed the car and if I did finish 2nd, I may need to whore another AS ride in Huntsville to try qualify for the SEDIV Finale in November. - AB

For those of us who are not really into "setup", working on the driver is the fun part. Believe me, seeing a first run time SLOWER than A Stock is a REAL motivator for working on the driver when you KNOW your car is much faster than the time showed.

Dick (who has been working on the driver since about 1975)

Results for both days are up:

I apparently was clean on Sunday's last run.

Links to results have been posted to Triad's forums, including all five runs, both days:

Unfortunately, they don't have Chris' (Peterson) last Saturday run (a clean 48.0) - there is no time recorded, that's strange. That would have paxed her 11th for Saturday and given her 4th place finishes each day. It's not a big deal, but she drove great, and it's always nice to get credit for an outstanding drive and see one's name where it belongs. They must have just had some sort of an issue in timing.

Eric

Can't you ask them to audit that issue and get it squared away?

Doug Allen mentioned to me Saturday that Jinx told him that his (that would be Jinx's) last run was dirty. Doesn't matter since pax sucks.

What was with the timing issues on Sunday, was it debris blowing through finish?

Les Davis had a good point on Sunday. Any good reason to leave a 500' of cable on a spool right at the finish?

For those who stayed away for rain, this is Saturday's course.

You’re right. Being recognized for a job well done is a great reward. Great going, Chris. We were just saying how great is was to see you not just playing with the boys, but playing with the BIG boys and doing it so well. Also, sidebar to that, thanks for your help Sunday morning. Reminding me that yesterday is done and gone was a big help. I wasn’t able to break into the 49’s as I had hoped, (due in part to taking out almost the entire “bus stop” on the final run of the day  ) but did have a personal best by finally surpassing Genette Jordan (pax) by 13/100’s.
