I hope Humpy doesn't hold his grudges with SCCA against NCAC.
They pulled the rug out from under on of the national events in 05 or 06 at the last minute at TMS saying they were going to be repaving the lot and didn't want tire tracks all over it. (AFAIK they never repaved it)
FWIU Bruton Smith and HW were snubbed by the SCCA when they requested a spec Thunder Roadster series. A serious error in judgement on SCCA's part IMHO.

CCR had a date there last year and everything went OK. They had a date scheduled for this year but it got canceled over concerns they were going to tear up the kart track or something. That is 3rd-hand info so take it for what it's worth.

Highlands isn't affiliated with the SCCA so they have that going for them assuming The Humpster can distinguish the difference. I guess we'll all find out real soon.

What a typical autocross does to a lot has NOTHING to do with affecting the ability to repave it. That is a load of bunk.

No, they didn't want tire tracks on the NEW pavement, they wanted it pristine for the NASCAR race, at least that's the story I heard at the time.

I guess Humpy didn't want the tire marks to detract from the beauty of the beer cans and chicken bones.
