I thought folks may be interested that the SCCA BOD appointed a replacement to the SEB Southeast Division seat previously held by Steve Holscher (spelling?).

Donnie Barnes is now the SE Div. SEB Member, pretty cool. Congratulations Donnie!

I admire Donnie for his willingness to the job, it will take a lot of time and patience. In return, he'll have to listen to a lot of complaining, unreasonable rants on the internet, and during events. Fortunately, he's one of the few people I know who is really good about genuinely listening and consdering to many different perspectives *and* is open enough to change his mind on positions after learning more about an issue. Also, in order to keep autocrossing fun and successful it takes folks who are really passionate about the sport - thanks for volunteering your time to do this Donnie!

I'm writing my letter to Donnie this weekend requesting that a Spec Class be made for 1988 Buick LaSabre T-Types on street tires :-)

Good luck Donnie.

Eric

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

If I had known this, I would have kept mine. 8) Besides a Camaro, that is the next best chick magnet.

That's too funny, I can't believe there is a website for the LeSabre T-Types. It really is a good car, the one I'm driving was my Dad's company car purchased new in 1988 and has 142K. The service manager at the Mazda dealer saw my car just before Nationals...told me he was formerly the manager at a Buick dealership and one of there customers put over 440,000 miles on his LeSabre T-Type. My engine is awesome, unfortunately the interior panels are falling apart...guess there is a reason why GM is in trouble.

Donnie has been trying to buy my LeSabre, but I keep refusing to sell it to him :-)

Eric must be on the "good stuff" tonight. I mean I'd gladly pay him *something* if it would mean putting that Le Sabre out of its misery, but I'd hardly call what I'd be willing to pay "trying to buy" it.

Must be the fumes from contact cement trying to glue the interior back together.

As the website said, it's the "Ultimate H-Type". That's almost as good as being the ultimate K-car.

Congrats, Donnie. Let the whining commence!

Congrats Donnie! I'm sure you will do a fine job. We really need more AX oriented representation in SCCA.
It sucks that Pro solo is fighting for it's life while Enterprise loses Millions and keeps being infused with loans at "very favorable" rates.
