Just an FYI for all of those that have messaged me about signing up for the Evolution Schools. If you notice on the pre-registration page on the THSCC website, the Evolution School has been set up. Carl still has a little tweaking to do over the next day or so. Once he is done, I will be sending an e-mail/PM to all of those that have got in touch with me so far with the passcode to go ahead and get signed up and prepay. After about 2 weeks, I will then open registration up to everyone else both inside and outside the club.

Pricing will be as follows:

Phase 1 and 2: $225 for members, $245 for non-members
Extreme School: $300 for members, $320 for non-members

If anyone has any questions about this, feel free to message me or e-mail me at swesterfield@nc.rr.com.

I e-mailed the passcode to all those that had previously expressed interest in the Evolution Schools sometime around the middle of last week. I see that some people have signed up. If you haven't and are still interested, please go ahead and sign up. I am going to be opening registration to folks outside our club on Feb 8th. If you haven't signed up before that, it will be first come first serve.

If you are a club member and interested, please message me or send me an e-mail at swesterfield@nc.rr.com and I can send it to you.

One last reminder, tomorrow is the last day to sign up for the Evolution Schools before registration is opened up to folks outside the club. We aren't full yet, but we are getting there. If you want a spot, let me know and I will send you the passcode.

For those of you that have signed up and haven't either paid or made other arrangements with me, please let me know what your plan is. If the schools fill up and a waiting list starts to form, I am going to have to remove your name from the list and sell your spot to the first paying customer if you haven't contacted me. We are trying to put these schools on at near cost, so I have to insure that all spots are taken and paid for.

Stephen,

What's the rain policy for the EVO school? Run in rain or postpone?

Thanks, Chris

I don't speak officially, but I'm sure it's run in the rain. Can't tell you how many stories I've heard from Tim Aro about having to teach in deluges...

Both. They will run in the rain. I think Tim told me that in all his years they have postponed one school? In that event though, we will schedule a new date.

I have talked to the Sleep Inn right across the street from the Danville Regional Airport regarding rooms for both April 20 and April 21. Rates are listed below. They have plenty of rooms right now, but you should make your reservations ASAP to be on the safe side. I will be sending more event info out soon via e-mail so stay tuned.

Danville Sleep Inn
1483 South Boston Rd
Danville, VA, US
(434) 793-6090

Single - $75.99
Double - $79.99

Mention that you are with THSCC for these rates.

Still have one spot open for the Extreme School if anyone is interested.

Also, my old e-mail address died this weekend. If anyone needs to get in touch with me regarding the Evo Schools, I can be reached at swesterfield75@gmail.com, or on my cell at 919-522-4376. I will be out of town Monday and Tuesday, but should be checking my messages now and then.

See everyone next weekend!

Tim Aro and Mike Johnson will be teaching the Extreme School. If I was not teaching that day I would pay and take the class....and I plan to take it at some point in the near future. This is a great opportunity, I hope someone will fill the last slot.

I look forward to seeing everyone this weekend,
Eric

Can we run tape during the schools?

Yes, lot's of people run video and data during their runs. I had several this weekend in both Phase 1 and 2 that were doing this. I had two guys who also had a pocket recorder and would talk about their runs, mine, list their times, etc. In those particular two cases they were so distracted with tape, data, and voice recordings that it made it hard to learn. I think doing video would be very helpful and not distracting. Doing some data would also be helpful. I just suggest not overdoing it.

As an aside, I had the chance to take several laps in a recent model Corvette with 570 hp (at the wheels) this weekend - in the pouring rain. I never applied more than 33% throttle. The owner (a very nice guy) told me he had $40K in the motor and that it ran 11's in the 1/4 mile. It was actually pretty easy to drive once short shifted into 2nd. The Roush Mustang with 427 hp was actually much harder to drive. Funny thing, it was just as much fun to drive the Proteges, Sentras, Miatas, older RX-7s, STis, etc.
