The dates for the Evolution schools have been set. Please mark your calendars.

Location: Danville Regional Airport
Date: April 21-22, 2007

Saturday: Phase I and 1 day version of the Extreme school

Sunday: Phase I and Phase II

Cost: TBD. From what I understand, they usually run in the $200-250 per phase range. We will keep it as low as we possibly can.

If you know you are for sure interested in one or two of the schools, shoot me a PM and I will get your name on the list. I would like to get as many THSCC folks enrolled as possible before I open it up to other clubs.

Is that cost per phase or per day?

A phase is a day. You can't do phase 2 and phase 1 on the same day, for example. So the answer is "yes." :)

It's a good setup...those with phase one experience can do two on Saturday and Extreme on Sunday (or those who have one and two and re-do two or just skip two and do Extreme on Sunday). Those with no Evo experience can do both one and two the same weekend. Some say do one, wait a while and do a few events, and then do two. That's not a bad plan for a *true* novice, but for those with several events of experience I don't personally think it's a bad idea to do both one and two or two and Extreme in the same weekend.

I did Phase I and II in the same weekend last year and it worked well for me. I wish I had done a Phase I VERY early on in my autocross career instead of waiting until last year.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

for those that have done these schools before...can you skip phase I and go straight to phase II, and is it even advised to do so. i can only do one, that's why i'm asking.

i've heard experienced autocrossers say that phase one was a good refresher but they didn't get nearly as much as they did from phase II. i just don't want to walk away saying, "dang, that was a good refresher, but i didn't really learn anything new".

Chris, I've heard the big negatory on that. Even with your fancy STS, EP and ES first place trophies.

Just take phase 1, you'll learn something new.

Just an update, Phase 1 is half full. I want to get as many Tarheel memeber signed up as possible before I open it up to other clubs. I need to get these filled up though so the sooner you let me know, the better.

I hear EVO Schools make great X-mas presents!

Just to give everyone an update, I am waiting for the EVO folks to get back to me with cost information. Once we get that together, I will probably be opening it up to folks outside the club. Right now there are plenty of Phase 1 seats open (I am thinking we are going to have 2 Phase 1 schools at this point instead of 2 Phase 2's like I originally mentioned), just a couple of Phase 2 seats open, and maybe 5 or 6 seats open for the Extreme School. I imagine this will fill up pretty quick once I open it to the public, so if your on the fence....you better hurry.
