All right kids, I think for the 2004 night events, we're going to have some fun. Classing rules may change at every event. No season points.

So, let's hear some fun rules for the night events. Here are a few of my ideas. I would like to keep more than one class at each event but not too many. Also if one class is "goofy", the other should be more serious for people who want to compete. No rules which compromise safety (blindfolded driver, etc).

Idea #1 (January):

"Sh!t Tire" PAX class - treadwear 300 or higher
+
"RAW" class - raw time only, no prep rules AT ALL. Take off those hoods and fenders to save some weight, find a set of slicks, borrow a Caterham, whatever!

Idea #2:

"Not My Car" (NMC) PAX class - must be a car you have not normally been driving
+
Regular PAX open class.

eh?

I love both ideas.

How about a 2 driver car, combined time event?

Cumlative time event (ala Rally X)

Ryan

I like! I like! Hopefully we can all talk the night series coordinator (Les) into these :)

wow, what a great idea. I definitely think those would be a blast...
How about a "Heavyweight" and "Lightweight" class setup based on stock weights...

How about driver's weight? Or ratio of HP to driver's weight index.

How about a street/race tire class. You have to run two race tires and two street tires. :)

That's not funny. For the last 3 events, I was thinking of mixing and matching Hoosiers and Kuhmos on the front. Decided a little cord was a better option.

How about one open class event. Any r-compound tires have to have a min of 50 heat cycles :)

I've been running that class for about the last 3 months. :(

That one too!

So I'm game. At least I have a head start on setup...

If I'm running the mirage next year, I will most likely be running that combination. Partly because I can't move my spring rates much higher in the rear and it would be the easiest (errr cheapest) way to get the car to rotate like I want.

I think it would be an interesting class for night events.

How about the cell phone - coffee challenge (Sponsered by Alltel and Starbucks). You must hold the coffee between your legs and complete one call while driving on course.

The combination of least things hit (cones go with your over all time), least amount of coffee in the lap and the fastest time wins.

We could call it the "Star" class in honor of the BMW film of that name. :D

Boy I hope the weather is nice that night!!! :D

If it is, I'll be glad to run "X" to let gutted "real cars" have a chance.

If it snows, I have snow tires for the Mustang.
