Unfortunately, we also seem to have lost Jason and Tonya, a couple of sure point getters.

I just want to say I'm sorry for the way that post sounded

I think the apology was appropriate. Thank you for that. But IMHO, there is no need for me or others to bash you as I think the BRR-SCCA, VMSC and ODR forum posts/emails sadly speak for themselves as to what was going on. Rescinded or not, I can’t believe it was an idea that was publicly supported by anyone.

As you will read...Anthony rescinded his offer. This was discussed amongst the officers as not necessarily in the "spirit" of good sportsmanship.

Thanks to everyone (THSCC officers and beyond) for working behind to scenes to put a stop to this.

Yeah, but it's a perfect spoon to stir the pot with :) We've got some notable members missing from our registration list, and we need to motivate them some how :)

Stir the pot indeed. I agree that the best thing to come out of this is that it may motivate people to show up and support their club. The entire previous mess had left such a bad taste in my mouth that I really just didn't want to attend. I had voted for us to kiss and make up for the good of NCAC and NC Autocross community. Now, I am mad enough to consider changing my mind regarding attending. I know others may feel the same. Hopefully those who considered not attending will do so now.

Yep, unregistered today. After the latest round of other clubs trying to hire participants, I've had as much as I can take.

Perhaps, I'll change my mind between now and then, but probably not.

You guys enjoy the CAC, errr I mean NCAC, crap what's this event about again?

I feel like I am in a freakin' Soap Opera. Richard, your not the only one I have heard this attitude from over the last couple of weeks, so I don't mean to single you out, but your post is fresh. All of the people that have expressed this exact same opinion to me aren't new members, but people that have been around for 5+ years. If you feel that strongly about it, no one is forcing you to run. This is the NCAC and the club cup at stake here. Come represent your club. If you stay home, no one is going to remember the folks that weren't there. WLC....let's go prove it.

I'm not sure why GH is registered as CCR. Wouldn't he technically be NCR? He lives in Kernersville, so I'm not sure exactly where the boundary lines are. I know I'm NCR. The best map I can find is here:

http://www.scca.com/Inside/Index.asp?Reference=436798

I gotta think he just picked the one that was SCCA since he's not a member of any other ones or something. Obviously the most likely club for him would be Triad, if he's indeed a member there. *shrug*

As well as Jinx Jordan, not from that region as I understand...it's already in discussion.

I just unregistered. Partly because of all the BS, partly because Christine's bday is the 18th and she wants to do something else that weekend.

Have fun.

Please people, this is autox.

It is an amateur motorsport we do for fun.

Get over yourselves.

Wah, their club did this, their club said that, waaah. Extra double waaah. I am not going because.... waaaah.

Edit: Kevin, Christine's firm grip on your manhood does give you a good excuse to skip it.

IIRC when you join SCCA you specify the region you want to belong to. They don't assign you based on your zip code or anything. So if you felt a special kinship with some other region, you're free to join it instead of your "local" one.

Hey, I think I came across totally in the wrong way. Like you I AM sick of the Soap Opera as well. That is one of the reasons I was not planning on attending. But I am NOW considering attending out of pride for our club. Like Wes said. It's Joe vs. Cobra now. ;) So I think I am back toward where you want people to be. :D

I don't want to dwell on the latest episode of the Soap Opera, but I felt had something I just wanted to get off my chest. I personally am ready to move on.

The main reasons that I am on the fence now is...

1. I suspect that I just would not be as competative enough in STS as I need to be to really help the club from a points point of view. Maybe I am wrong as I really haven't done the math based upon what I think might be the results in STS.
2. Same situation if I move into DSP
3. I had budgeted out one "two day event" this year. I traded NCAC for this past weekends Saturday invitational and Sunday regular points event as I felt I had a better chance to get more points toward our end of year championship (which I think was the right decision from that point of view). So me weekends in August are pretty full and this would just be another weekend away from the family.

Really #3 is the main hang up. Maybe I can talk myself into it. Maybe a co-drive in a car that I feel is more competative than mine? I don't know. Anyhow I was hoping that my post above might sway some to run even if I don't (for other reasons).

We need someone in HS from another club! There's one guy signed up on Sunday only, but that won't count for the Club Cup. I could run the Mini in FSP, but I don't think I've got much for Jinx Jordan there.

You might have thought a class would count for the Cup if it's got a certain number of drivers (like, more than 2), not clubs.

After 2 bottles of pinot and a couple 'o Miller Lites this has to be the most humorous thread I've read in a while. I must say that blindly recruiting former club members to go out and kick a lil' arse is a waste of time. If someone wants to race, they will; end of story...
