I think you should suck it up, go run in STS against Jeb Brookshire, get your ass kicked for a while and maybe you'll eventually beat him, if you're any good. Your car is less prepared for STS than his car is, but I guarantee you that Feinberg could beat Jeb in your car - so don't even bring that argument.

I was the only guy with an STS 2.5RS when I first started, so I decided to compare times with an STX WRX driver, who also happens to be a national champion now. I rode with him and he rode with me, and I learned a lot from him - and from a lot of other people in the same way. I was pretty excited the first time I beat Mr. Hoppe in pax, especially because my car was way less prepared than his. Jeb's not a national champion or anything, but he's obviously a better autoxer than you are right now, so maybe you could get some ride-alongs and learn something from him.
Just a thought... feel free to misinterpret everything I said and not drink the water.
I know Jeb and am quite good friends with him from the mazda3forums, and I certainly am watching his times intently every weekend, I use him as a benchmark to see how I'm doing, despite him not being in my class. He and I definitely talk, and I try and learn from him. Doesn't change the fact that his car is classed appropriately, and my car would be more appropriate for TIR w/ HS pax.
I just don't understand this, TIR exists for a reason, the same reason that classes exist in the first place. What is the reason to do away with it?
