Scott,

First, remember that I have no dog in this fight despite the fact that I may own the second fastest autocross car in NC (George Bowland, A Mod Champ lives here now).

It appears that what you have learned is that there is a "market" for a car capability based handicap (PAX is a handicap) competition. Seems like this is similar to the golf handicap system. Of course there is the major difference being that Golf lets low skilled players beat high skilled players and PAX usually doesn't since it is Car capability based just like the normal classes.

This way people with various classes of cars get to compete head to head just like golfers with various talent/skill levels get to compete head to head. Again, PAX competition retains the need for better talent than the competition in other classes that handicap golf doesn't.

Interesting.

I'm thankful I won't be an officer next year. Honestly, at the this point, I don't care what happens (if anything). I'm going to show up, pay my $20 and drive whatever class my car fits into. - AB

David, you might consider thinking before you post.

Jim and I have put a lot of time and effort into this club over the last two years, much of which you would never know about. Please, don't ever question our loyalty to the club, or our intentions. We bust our butts to make the autocross program as good as it is (as well as Scott, Mike, Shawn) and to have someone questioning us on being officers, especially from somone who hasn't stepped up for anything position wise in THSCC is an insult.

All we are commenting on is that we're glad we don't have to deal with some of the issues like TIR, classing, etc, and next year just come out and drive and enjoy things again. Neither Jim, nor I are running for an officer position next year, and will be replaced in just 3 short weeks. - AB

Aaron I always think before I post and if you would read the post I put in with Diane's you would see that I am appreciative of the job every one has done over the past five years to improve the club and make our autocross program one of the best in the area if not the east coast. I may not been around much in the past 2 years, all though I have enjoyed the night autocross program, but I have seen all the hard work you have done, but at the end of it if your saying well I am gald I am not doing that anymoe it makes me wounder, and you answered that with saying you were glad that you could just come out and have fun next year.

As far as me not steeping up to the plate to help, well all I can say was I offered to help in many ways to many differnt people and the offer was never taken up weather that be chair an autocross work or other stuff my offers were never acted on, so I decided that THSCC must have enough help cuase I sure got tired of asking and offering. So 2 years ago when I saw NASA-VA soliting for help with thier track program I jumped on that, and have had a blast.

Hey you slacker! You're still VP for FIVE weeks!

Hah hah hah. Hey guys, lighten up. Everyone knows how hard these guys have worked this year, and I totally appreciate the "I'm just going to show up and drive" approach... One of these years I will do it myself.

It _is_ pretty stressful being behind the scenes. It would be different if we were being paid for this, and everyone has their own tolerance for how much they will do as a volunteer.

David - I don't remember you volunteering to help out lately, but let me tell you, if you want to be noticed as a helpful person, don't wait around for someone to tell you something to do - go out and do something.

Your right Mike have not volunteered for anything in the last 2 years, mainly beacuse I was spending the time I would have been at an autocross, working with NASA-VA, and I did the whole go out and do something when I was autocrossing regulary, but all of that is history and there is no sense in hashing that out.

This has gone WAY off topic. If you want it unlocked, IM me and we can discuss it. Alternately, you could petition another moderator, if you prefer that.
