What is average autocross performance?

How much does prior experience matter?

Is 4 wheel drive a real or perceived advantage? How much?

Are all of our autocross sites created equal (as in equal for all competitors) ?

Some data from my ever growing database of autocross results.

I'll start this thread out in true THSCC fashion.

PAX SUX!!

That's actually a TON of data. So if I am reading this right, AWD seems to be quicker, followed by FWD and lowly RWD.

I haven't looked at the data yet (it didn't display right with my browser), but I'll comment on the driveline preference:

In order to go from "zero" to "hero" in the shortest time, buy the cars in the order listed, AWD>FWD>RWD.

I kind of suspect the numbers don't show AWD to be worth FTD on most days.

Sorry, I posted this in Tech Talk by mistake. It should have been in Autocross.

Can a working file (excel maybe?) be posted? I'm not going to launch internet explorer just because a file tells me to...

That's funny, I'm using a PC to try and view the files via Firefox and it still doesn't work. Seems that PC people aren't very smart :)

I use Firefox most of the time. But there are times were you have to run IE, like it or not. Rick's file is exported from Excel. As is typical MS has it fixed so Mozilla/Firefox browsers can't deal with it. There are also some websites that are not Firefox friendly. I've found some when buying car parts or registering for events. Oh well...

To continue the hijack...

I don't have to use IE for those sites, I just dno't give them my business.

I tried teh right-click "save as" and tried to open it in Excel but that didn't work either, so I guess MS needs to try a little harder :)

I'm sorry I posted info that isn't widely readable. I was trying to minimize file size to stay within my Roadrunner size limitations.

Chris, I'm using Internet Explorer and I can't read the htm. file you posted. I can see the text portion, but not the graphs.

I can open the page, but can't access the pictures because they are linked to an imaginary file on my C drive.
