So, over the weekend went to Charlotte to catch up with some friends. On Sunday left the wives behind and drove to Asheville for an event with Highlands.

Well run event actually. Got 8 runs in. Had a break for lunch. They even did fun runs. Scenary was nice.

One thing that made me realize how lucky we are here in Tarheel: This was their best site and it was a 30 second course.

Not only do we generally have the best run events in the region, but we've got the best sites.

So take this as a thanks to the folks that pull all this together and make it happen season after season.

Enough kumbayah for the morning. Back to your regularly scheduled girl car, hackmobile, TIR class flamefests. :P

How many total entries were there? What was their start and finished (after clean-up) time? How did *you* do?

Believe it or not, but some people that actually give a sh!t and have something on the ball are now in charge in Asheville. The night series event I went to last week was the best HSCC event I've ever been to.

It's hard to find a big, level parking lot in the mountains......

What about the massive parking lot that was used for Ghost Town? When they did the Corvette event a year ago they used it for the course. I'd think you could make a 90 second course on that lot.

That lot is generally descibed as being not so good.

Low numbers on a holiday weekend. 48. It was Ghost Town in the Sky's lot.

First car off was late, around 10:30 I think. Runs were finished before 4.

The elevation changes were nice to have. i think the course was short since they had a school the previous day and for the most part I think they just flipped it for the points even the next day.

They could have had a longer course, but that would have been tighter. Not sure if the vette guys would have been as happy with that. One slalom, which was really a lane change at about 24 paces. Everything else was sweepers and turnarounds.

Me?
1st in GS out of three.
2nd Pax (by .002 of a second).
13th Raw

On my craptacular Hankooks. I'm going to tank at Sanford on my Hoosierz. I'll be driving like a 15 year-old on a learner permit.

The last Subaru Challenge I went to was on that lot. We had a "1st gear WRX course" and it was low 30's for FTD. I hit the rev limiter once while taking FTPAX. It was an awesome course for something that small.

If you had a 90 second course in that lot, it would involve pitting and gridding the cars on the highway and doing at least 2 laps of the course.
