Wow, all this talk of girlie cars and manly cars and so many bringing out their Corvettes, makes me want to bring the GTO instead... Nah...

to quote a certain someone" How can you leave that GTO in the garage and drive that girlie car!!!"

Not sure who your quoting, but maybe that person should go for a ride in my Miata some time. 1/4 mile times are very similar between the two cars and the Miata drives a lot less like a school bus.

Funny story, dude I know recently went for a ride with me in the GTO. His comment was "Wow, this thing handles pretty good." I just chuckled and said it handled like a school bus compared to my Miata. He didn't believe until I took him for a ride in the Miata last night. He no longer doubts me...

Chris, Bernie, Steve. Come on bring those toys out for Sanford and let's have some fun. I'll sign up. It should be a fast course based on the event chairs. Y'all should kick my butt since I haven't run around/over a cone since last fall.

and yes Bernie while my bmw is a girlie car at least it doesn't belong to my wife :P :P :P see ya'll in Sanford

Aarghhhh you got me there, I don't own a girlie car, I've got to borrow one.
Lets take Graham up on the invitation and do it with Macho Cars. I'm game how about it Chris, and Steve

i'm in Bernie.

Mission accomplished. Now I'm gonna bring the Miata out and show y'all what can be done with a girlie car. :) Hahahaha.

I'll have y'all know that the only car poster currently hanging in my garage is of a C6. The M3 gets to stare at that all night knowing where my true dreams lie... Someday, someday.

hey Jim P. you chuckling at all this HP fueled conversation yet?

This is pretty funny stuff. A couple of well known facts, any woman driving a Z28 can beat up any guy driving a Miata. Secondly, if your car has air conditioning or came with ac or has any switches that operate anything but lights, you are simply a poser. So get your wax out ;-) Finally, if you have four doors...let's not even go there

Before any women raise a stink, my mom daily drove a 69 Z for 3 years. And those don't have power steering!

Excuse me will I go and groom my mullet. Which reminds me you Vette guys, the only wax is for mustaches and hair ;-)

Dan made the transition over from AWD to high hp RWD nicely. I am sure you would do fine.

The R32 actually has more HP than the M3...although its a couple hundred pounds heavier

Oh I just double-dare ya to put up a 10 cone course. I can hear the Monday morning whining on the forum already...[/quote]

Yeah, Les and I are preparing ourselves for the inevitible whining. That's just part of the deal. With this many people, strong personalities and testosterone, you can't make everybody happy.
I think Danville had the least whining in my short time here. Those guys made a fun and fair course.
We really won't have just 10 cones, but we are trying to keep the number down.

I have to run ASP. My car is not SS legal (I installed fuzzy dice). So the boys are just gonna cut a brother some slack and run ASP. Won't make any difference. I'll be competing with Steve to see who can mow down the most orange thingies...

Oh the he11 with them Walter. You guys run the event you pick the course, period. Now if you can convince Les to bring the GTO he'll go along with 10 cones and really wide gates. And the standing 1/8 mile drag start. He'll look like a drunken sailor trying to get that push pig through the usual Miata courses we have.

Come on Les bring the GTO. Heck, splurge and use 15 cones if the girlie car driver in you wants more cones

Walter, event chairs need thick skin. do you remember the miata course set-up @ L'burg last spring? that was a two week whine fest on the forums. go for it, leave the cones on the bus.

It sounds like you guys are already complaining about the course before it's even designed!

I hear that Walter likes Jimmy's Vees so much that he's planning on having five of them. And two Chicago Boxes and three pivot cones. Then a straight.
