Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of the ladies who helped make the 2006 Chick School such a great event this year. With 13 students, 9 instructors and 0 "helpers", the instructors had to pull some double and triple duty (helping with course setup, timer setup, course walks, retrieving lunch, spending time at worker stations explaining what to look for while working course, clean up, etc) Everyone did a fantastic job and I can't think of a single thing I would change. Even the weather came through for us before the first run group started!!! :D

Special thanks to my co-chair, Malia - especially for running all the last minute errands!!! Without you, the t-shirts would have never made it!!!

I also want to thank the club and especially the officers. Every time we've put on this school, I have gotten nothing but 100% support from everyone, with many, many people (re: men!!) bending over backwards to help make this event happen. I hope that all of the ladies who participate understand how much their male counterparts support their efforts and participation. :cheer:

Last, but CERTAINLY not least, another HUGE HUGE thank you to our Chick School sponsors. It cannot be said enough, our sponsor contributions really enable this school to happen each time. This year's sponsors are:
February Associates
McGeorge Toyota
THIRDEYESTUDIO

Keep an eye on the ladies....you'll be seeing their names at the top of the results sheets!!!!

Chris, Malia and All,
Thanks for all you did to make the Chick School a success. We had some great students! The small size was nice, although I wonder where all the Ladies were…..seems like last year we had 30. With 45 minute groups and 6 in a group, talk about the number of runs! I lost count. Don’t think there’s anywhere the men can go for that kind of seat time. AWSOME! I learned a lot from instructing and REALLY enjoyed taking Bernie’s Vette over the course a few times. I think I’ll stick to the Mini for the real fun, though. Thanks again to all. Especially the men for the behind the scenes, got no credit for the work, stuff, like's Mo's hubby, for driving the bus. Thanks.

The number of students was smaller this year. I haven't decided if that is due to having the school in May (with Mother's Day, graduations, weddings, National events, etc) or because we should really only do this school every *other* year. (and if anyone wants to chime in with opinions on this - I'd love to hear them.)

I would like to point out, though, that we had a student come from as far south at Greenville, SC (read about it on a Mini forum) and as far north as Gaithersburg, MD!!! (was looking for a school and did a search for autocross schools!!) Those are two ladies who *REALLY* wanted to drive!!!!

There is certainly demand for this type of school. After the first year, I mentioned it to some ladies at a National event.....and they started a chick school in the Kansas Region!! Now it sounds like the DC region may also be interested in putting something together. Leave it to the THSCC to lead the way!!!!

I would really like to thank all the instructors for the fabulous chick school. The day could not have gone better or been more fun. It was also great meeting instructors and students from other locations & clubs.

I want to personally thank Amy & Chris (my morning and afternoon instructors) for all the effort they put into making my day as fun and exciting as possible. From Amy - brake less, brake sooner and brake harder! From Chris - yes, you really can keep the throttle flat on the floor!

Having the autocross the next day to test my new skills was a huge bonus. I never would have gotten my fastest time (55.something) without all the pointers on Saturday.

Again, the time and effort by all who volunteered to help during the school is greatly appreciated.

Of course we know that! :) And how come I didn't get mooned at the starting line? Talk about a launch!!!

Between mooning and Brokeback AutoX, I'm beginning to look forward to the Christmas Party already!

I also want to give kudos to everyone involved in the Chick's School! You all did a great job.

I would love to see the school happen every year. I am not sure what the reason for the low turn out was, but I hope we can see more people getting involved next year.

Special thanks to M.E. and Audie. You were both a great help. It was a blast to drive the Mustang for the first (and probably last) autocross last weekend.
You helped me make the most of it.

And M.E., in case you didn't see it, I did spin the car on my first run Sunday... just for you!
