just wanted to clarify again, GREAT EVENT, sorry if I in any way seemed like I was saying otherwise, it was the best event I've ever attended, it got my wife hooked (nice job guys), so look for me at future events, although it seems like H-stock is pretty much owned by Bernie and Mary for now, time to make some new magnetic numbers to put myself in TIR. . .

What's the deal with this working discussion? Working, whether it's shagging cones, helping set up or the cushy starter and grid jobs, is an obligation that everyone accepts when they attend an event.

I agree with Scott. For various reasons some participants at our events just can't follow the flow of the things and don't show common courtesy regards the necessity to do their part in helping the event run smoothly. Novices are especially vulnerable to this malady, but without good reason!

Ryan did a good job going over the working agenda at the drivers' meeting on Sunday, but maybe more specific instructions at the start of the event would eliminate some of the confusion, especially for Novices:

1.) Line "A" is ONLY for those competitors who will be running the next run group (That leaves plenty of time to take a break, grab your water bottle and report for work). If you're not working the next heat, grid in Line "B". Simple.
2.) If you're sharing a car... well, work the logic.
3.) Cheerfully relieve the folks currently working as soon as you can. You'd like that courtesy, right? If you're out there for a few extra minutes, so what? We promise, you'll get all your runs in!
4.) (My favorite.) SPREAD OUT along the course while working. Huddling in groups around the fire extinguisher just makes for inattentiveness and long jaunts to shag cones.

We had a perfect example of 4.) at Danville where a red flag was in order due to a spin, and all three (or 4) workers at the station were watching the spinning car and chatting while the next car was bearing down on the cross-over.

My $.02 worth. Have a nice day. :)

Brice let me correct you on that last post. Bernie has no ownership rites in H stock. Mary owns it all, and she aint selling, leasing, or renting.

Walter, I took up your slack on that one! Kudos to event chairs, nice event. Straight forward, but challenging layout, wonderful weather (last year's heat was punishing). GREAT dash plaque. I don't recall ever seeing such a look of satisfaction on Vincent's face. :)

Excellent course guys! One of my all time favorites. I never did feel "right" with the offset slalom thingy after the sweeper. Always felt like I was doing it wrong. And I really wish my car would go into third a little easier, fifth gear isn't much fun. :( Other than that, I can't really imagine a much better autox day. I don't know that Walter and I are gonna be able to follow up that event with ours in Sanford, the bar has certainly been set high.

What a fun course. The Mustang was an absolute blast going through the sweeper. I only hope that Adam and I can design a course in October as good as the one yesterday.

I am sorry for the one delay that we had due to the computer taking a crap on us. I'm just glad we were able to get everything worked out.

As always I have to thank my wonderful Scoring Team for their exemplary work in the bus. Without them, every event would be a failure.

My only complaint has to do with fun runs. I don't understand why the call was made to not have them. Given the fact that we knew we had to figure out how to get the morning runs to show up on the results, and that it was only ~3:00 when Heat 4 ended, we had PLENTY of time for fun runs. The only reason given was "Because I'm in charge and I said so." Not too cool in my book.

My button was pressed yesterday. Nope sorry, it's not going to happen again today.

How about this, your illustrious President and AX VP actually got home and it was still light out. That was nice for a change :)

Next time we get done around 3 we have fun runs, I promise

The person REALLY in charge

Dan, you clearly don't know how much effort goes into this you spoiled brat, you should take over timing and scoring at next months event and see how it feels!

(sarcasm, for those who didn't get it)

Am I fitting in yet? Just playin guys, please nobody take this as serious. . .

Here's the deal on results:

We didn't receive the files until last night, and we didn't get around to posting them then. Tonight your Webmasters are celebrating their anniversary, so they won't be up tonight either. It's on the list for Wednesday evening.

Before someone chimes in with the idea about giving the results files to the webmasters after the event, well we were going to do that, but Todd and Rebecca had to leave the event promptly, and by the time anyone thought of it, the laptop was packed away.

In summary, while your Head of Timing and Webmasters are committed to faithfully performing the duties we have volunteered for, we do occasionally have other things come up in our lives that prevent us from giving those chores top priority. So please forgive this delay in posting results, we'll get to them as soon as we're reasonably able.

You're halfway there. Just come back after a while and give him a hug to complete the slap-then-hug cycle.

Dude, clearly your priorities are all wrong :)

Happy anniversary!

Funny you should mention that- that has been a topic of discussion around our house lately... :brow:

It really was an excellent event. I adored the course -- I like easy to follow, hard to be quick, courses. This one had me thinking and analysing the whole day, which is just how I like it. I had a great time.

Of course I also enjoyed the doubling of the entries in FS: bring that yellow Mustang out again, please! I also note a new-model Mustang currently running NOV-FS who I hope is on the way to join us too...?

Another little piece of note: Mike Greene won TIR in a 2001 Saturn coupe. Old timers might remember him as the owner of the Honda that his co-driver rolled spectacularly at a Rocky Mount autocross back in the 80's. Before Sunday's event, Mike hadn't been to an autocross in five years, and in fact only got this car a month or so ago. I knew he was good, but to jump in like that at his first event back is pretty darned impressive. (I know he's not reading this, he hasn't rejoined the club yet  )
