Ouch! Look at all the safety issues there. Had that tree not been in the way, and with just a little extra speed, that car could have potentially left the site. Notice the dad and child on the other side of the fence.

All kidding aside, she vindicated her reputation this weekend by smothering the competition at the SCCA event in Wilmington. The green Mini beat the field in ladies class, in raw time-(Not true I just saw the results and she did not have the best raw time). She won with her pax. :oops:

That was at Qualcomm Stadium on the sunday of the SD National Tour. On one side of the stadium...autocrossing, the other...drifting. A few folks were grumbling about the strict sound rules that they have to autocross under but it seems that the weekday drag races and weekend drifters seem to be able to get away with open headers and the like, but thats another story.

I was packed up for the drive home and was at the entrance when this happened. Screeeeetch....Boom. Then lots of people running to the stricken car. I remember thinking.."where are the fire bottles?" Im sure someone must have had one....but I didnt see any.

The sidewalk isnt as close to the lot as it seems, but you have to wonder about the location of the turn. There just wasnt much wiggle room for runoff and that curbing sure seemed like it was waiting to grab a rear wheel should one drift too close....but what do I know? I finished DFL in GS at the tour so.....

Drifting seems so counterproductive, so I'm still not a big fan. Then again, I drive a front drive Honda. :wink:
