For those who waited here is your chance to get into the DC Prosolo. Check the ebay auction.

We are on the waiting list, it sucks that DC region was alerted before anyone else knew reg was open, and ~ 90 entries are people that don't run for points or to attend national finale when only 3 E 1/2 country events offered. Don't expect that the Finale will be full with 2 event qualifiers this year.
There are a lot of small classes.
Oh boy they are going to give points for bonus challenge placement, that's a lot cheaper than giving out free event and (no longer required) PS license to the winner. 'Bout time they start indexing for super challenge qualifying instead of allowing competitors in a weak class to bump out stronger drivers because they were closer in time to their (weak) class winner.

Craig Garfield did his best to alert *everyone*, not just the locals. Remember, the locals there are VERY used to having to be fast just to get into local events. Most of their events fill up in one day and they *do* turn people away at events, which is something we're not used to around here. I got email from Craig because I attended the Divisional there last year, so I get his announcements on events. Had I known this issue was going to exist I would have forwarded it and would have posted here, but I had no idea (and didn't even give it much thought since I can't go anyway).

They upped the limit to 225, so if you faxed in a registration quickly after it closed you're probably in now. Eric and Chris got in that way. I doubt it leaves very many people out that *really* wanted to go and planned to do more Pros, so I doubt *this* particular issue hurts the Finale. What will hurt the Finale is fewer actual events on the east coast within decent driving distance...

I know of two that were signed up for the Peru Pro also and on the waiting list that didn't get in. It really stinks because I will probably have to withdraw my entry because all my possible roomates have either not gotten in or scrubbed due to date conflicts. :(

This is what happens when SCCA screws the east out of much in terms of National events and decides to put the only Prosolo at a location that has a very high demand for autocross. Maybe next year they will work harder on getting more events near the east coast instead of only having the Devens NT and the DC Pro. Peru is the only other event even remotely close.

So, got a list of sites they should look at that can host a Pro? Devens can't. VMP is supposedly no longer available for autocross. The Ft. Myers site has a host of issues not the least of which is that it is probably done as an autocross site altogether. Atlanta is still a possibility. By your definition Oscoda wouldn't count anyway. I'm not sure how much is left. :(

For me the problem is that DC is the only real easy event to get to. I have a co-drive at the Peru NT in my friends STS civic but I am still working on getting there because I don't have much spare time in my schedule. I don't know what the current situation on sites is. It just seems that there needs to be another NT or Pro somewhere on the east coast to ease the tension and waiting lists. I have no solution for the problem.

I guess I've got no sympathy on the NT situation since there *are* three reasonable ones (Ft. Myers, Devens, and Peru) *and* I don't care much for NTs. :)

On the ProSolo thing, it's really about sites. There just ain't hardly none around. Atlanta is the one that's missing, and it's *barely* tolerable for a Pro. Beats having hardly any others at all, though, so I wish we had it back.

Having the only good one for the east coast be DC was just bad luck on many fronts, none of which really due to anyone's incompetence. That's all I was really trying to say.

ACU4 certainly would be a suitable site for either a tour or a pro. Biggest problem is that national wants the local club(s) to do all the locating, negotiating, leg and bull work so they have nothing to do except walk in and run the thing. So what the site owners see is the same local people asking for the "same" type event, not a stable serious national organization willing to organize and run a national caliber event with the backing of community and industry.

Have you let National know about ACU4? They are one small organization that definitely does need help in this arena. But they *can* run events without much local support and have done so in the past.
