NASA has a new site located in West Point, VA. Their "first open to the general public" event is scheduled for March 26th. The site is the Middle Peninsula Regional Airport. It is a very large site. NASA keeps a smaller entry list and promises 6 runs.

More info at NASA NEW-SITE-O-CROSS

Now I kick myself for not accepting their offer to run a test event there and help with course designs :(

Wow, that would have been really convenient to college in Williamsburg.

Up until three years ago, my brother lived 15 minutes from there. Now it is 45 minutes, plus the ferry ride. With the rumor that VMP is going away, good sites are becoming rare.

From what the NASA people are saying is VMP got their NHRA certification back. VMP will be hosting a big NHRA event in October. They plan on repaving and painting the lot. They are worried that AX will damage the site. None of the Virginia clubs that run there have posted their schedules yet.

This looks way cool... NASA ROVAL event.

The main ax will occur prior the ASA Late Model race. Too bad it is such a hike from Raleigh.
