Since the "gentleman's" tire rule was nixed last year and I want to put more toys on the bimmer, I'm shifting up to STS this year. Who else plans on running this year. Looks like we'll get a small break from a PAX standpoint with the minor number change.

curious minds want to know....

I'll be in STS again this year. I'm looking forward to running with you. Maybe one of us can beat Richard this year.

I will be back. I am focusing development and $$$ on the 914, so nothing new for the Civic. I am going to be replacing the timing belt, water pump, etc. in the next few weeks. I am 99% sure I will not be running the Falken FK-451 next year (as I did last year) and will be using the Azenis 615.

I'll be there in the ex-whitney, ex-peterson civic hatchback. Yeah, I'm also hopeing they left some ability in the car! I'll also have a co-driver who has about three races under his belt.

Hmm, two beamers to compete with... is that fair? Richard, we're going to have to come up with a strategy to handle those two extra cylinders to make it fair.

Phil, I will let you in on a secret. That car of yours is a four seat go-kart if you do the standard STS preps. The problem for the larger cars is their weight and limitation on max tire size. For me, I basically have the same engine as your's (106 HP or so) but with a heavier body. Drive well and you can be the 2006 STS champion.

Amen to that - Scott Sawyer's was one of the most fun cars I've ever done a run in - right up there with the STi's. Made my RS feel like a Cadillac.

Guess again, its much lower  Phil's car is probably 2200-2250lbs (Im guessing its got AC and PS).

Full STS prep 2050-2100 is not a stretch on a 91 IIRC

Oh, yeah - and Christine has said that she'd like to autocross the RS at some point this year. It would be STS prepped if she does. But after driving the STi at the T&T I think she's going to change her mind about the RS.

I can't remember right this second, but that 2485 sounds abour right for my car. I haven't removed AC, etc. as this is my daily driver. You also have to factor in the 260 lbs of driver weight. Someday I am going to "lighten" my car by going on a diet.

2000 Contour SVT in autocross trim on Rockingham scales: 3050 lbs without driver. I feel the pain, and I was on 205/50-15s.

That what I'm using right now. Sure wish the new 225 Azenis would get here.

Phil nice to hear that your running this year. Welcome to STS.
