I picked up a 2006 Miata and was wondering what class it would run in next year? I checked the class listing and it has not been added yet. I wouldn't think that the 2.0 L would run in CS with the 1.8. It's got a lot more pull than last years car.

Directly from the online 2006 SCCA Solo Rules:

C Stock (CS)
Mazda
Mazdaspeed Miata
Miata 1.8 (‘98+)
MX-5 (‘06+)

I don't know if there has been any change since the rulebook was "printed".

From what I've read on the net, the '06 miata's will be in CS along with the 1.8l 99+ miatas and the new Solstice. Should be an interesting battle next year.

BTW GRM has a new article out on all 3 cars tested in an autox setting.
