I'm trying to decide between BSP and SM for next year. Is anyone else planning on running in BSP?

The STI and Evo are getting moved from ESP to BSP and with that move comes the allowance of unlimited boost.

I can run BSP. I dont mind running while down on power. I think the PAX is about the same anyway :)

Wherever Dan winds up, I am going to run there ;) I have a feeling he is going to wind up in BSP anyway.

I will beat him 100 hp down... on street tires... in a school zone ;) (joke)

because my brain melted thinking about this crap last week. i cant afford Rcomps (because i want tires for HPDEs too) so its either STU or BSP/TIRE. or SM/TIRE.. and of those i guess STU would be best

(lets stop jacking up Chris' thread now)

Fair enough.

I know that Marcus and Kevin have both entertained multiple times getting power mods on both their cars. I am sure that we could have quite a few people that bounce back and forth between STU and BSP. Get enough good people in BSP, and I think we can influence Whitney to come and play :)

Really? any chance you've heard anything about the 1st gen Zs being moved out of BSP? Thats just ridiculous to have 240Z/280Zs competing agains E36 M3s, C4 vettes, and now STIs and EVOs?! thats just mean, man... mean I tell ya!

There has been nothing said about moving the old Zs out of BSP.

Chris, I think with all that talent in BSP, you should run in that class! Really, you would be much happier in BSP than running against a bunch of loud, redneck f-bodies in SM

Walter,

My concern is that BSP is very thin. Last year two people did 2 events and four people did 1 event and that was it. SM had a more consistent showing.
Plus, what can be better than competition between american muscle and a 4-dr import? :P

Sounds like a chicken/egg thing - if they were classed competitively, more people would run them... if I'm not mistaken, they used to clean up in BSP... many moons ago. (I'm new to this, so I'm sure this has been discussed many times before, for many different makes and models)... this is why we created ZSP for our time trials as an option for Z drivers... cause while the performance differential may not be as bad as I think at an autocross... they don't have chance, mod-for-mod for Solo I/Time Trials

That is always the problem, why would classify something correctly if no one is running them? There is no guarantee that just because they were classed correctly the a bunch of people would flock to run the Z's nationally.
