Yup, it does. It lists M3(E36), M3 Lightweight on the same line.

Another interesting side note, the '90+ 300zx twin turbo is BSP as well, and with unlimited boost, could be an interesting car. - AB

interesting. yes, for both BS and BSP it says M3 (e36) and doesnt specify years.

so this backdate/update rule is applicable only to Street Prepared (and above?)? ie, it wont help me out for STU or BS right?

thanks

edit: *just read rules* i see, my assumption is correct. i see where SP mentions this, but not ST.

see? i knew this thread would get me somewhere :D

hey, I won't protest your clutch thingamabob if you won't protest the massive hole (which has been patched with part of a generic mudflap) in my fender liner.

:D

Dan,

First, I'm glad to see that there is a "legit" way for you to remove what may be the only "aggravating" aspect of your M3 in regard to daily driving (its primary purpose). I've been there and do understand. In SP your daily driver won't be competitive at the National level but if you like it better in "semi SP trim" then that is what counts. Been there, done that too. If you get hooked on the sport you may decide to put up with the Stock limits just to make the car fast enough to beat Mike W in his Stock version . . .

Second, sorry to come on strong regarding accepting the rules. I just happen to have seen so many "new guys" over the years who think a "rule" is "stupid" because they want to do something to their car to make it better and the rules don't allow the change. Every car has a different "need". Just ask Mustang and Camaro guys about subframe connectors for our oxcart suspended relics. Somehow a little stiffer chassis is supposed solve all that . . .

Peace (old guy word)

What's so "Nazi" about telling people to run in the appropriate class for the modifications that you have performed?

Because in the manner in which that fact is spoken, generally. :)

"Can I cheat?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because the rules for that class say so. Run in the appropriate class. That's why it's there."

"But what if I don't wanna?"

"Then you're an asshat."

And that's all that I've got to say about that.

[quote="DanDurusky"]Chris, i don't want to be in SM because id get eaten up by 400hp STIs w/ my car that isnt even STU prepped! hah

Does the STI have 400 HP? The Navy Blue Camaro does - says so right on the hood!
I'm happy to run SM and not having to worry about so many rules.

I am underprepped, so it should be fair. I am not even CLOSE to STU prep ;)

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

Not sure what the crank HP is but it's not 400. I was hoping you would have made the Viper event...it was a very HP friendly course and a lot of fun.

So far I have no definitives on BSP so it looks like I'll be in SM again, which is fine since there is a good mix of cars there.

Back to the technical talk, do all/most cars have these and do they ever fail? The reason for asking is that after replacing my clutch fluid my transmission has been sort of "jerky" (insert jokes here). It occurs mainly at the last 5% of pedal release.

I'm thinking it's definately hydraulic-related because after bleeding the system two times, the clutch engagement is butter smooth immediately thereafter, but then the engagement jerkiness/ abruptness slowly resumes.

Also, I've replaced the master & release cyliders, hence the two bleedings.
