Although the day started out a little, ah, stressful early in the morning for me (more about that later) and it got worse in the first heat, everything went great after that.

Big thanks to the following -

- Rob H - for a great course ... his first and I know he learned a lot!
- Jason M - for putting up with me constantly asking him to do stuff
- Steve Remchak for setup help and for "sponsoring" the event with a charity donation match
- Kevin and Christine, their friends (can't remember their names!), Brian H, and the guys in the S2000 - for helping A LOT with setup
- Todd B - for helping with the wireless fiasco, helping in the bus, and always having a great attitude and a smile on his face!
- Station 6 workers, and everyone else who helped with the wireless problems!
- Jim P for taking care of the novices!
- Marcus McRae who announced at least 2 heats
- David T and Dan E for stepping up for worker coordinators -- And David did some announcing too!
- Wes E and Cosby for taking care of the stickies table ... I know they had some problems, but I never heard about them

I know there were a lot of other people who stepped up and did more than required, and if I didn't mention you above, THANKS!

I continue to be amazed at how much support our members give, and I'm glad to see a lot of "new" faces coming forward and lending a hand. As we continue to burn out old officers (Dishman, Whipple, maybe soon Ryan, Vincent, Jason, and Scott?), I'm happy to know that there are some people left to take our places

I enjoy every event but I particularly liked yesterday's course. A ton of fun. The timer hiccup happened...oh well, life goes on. Fortunately it was troubleshot and the party continued. Thanks to those that worked on it..gotta be a bitch to debug under pressure.

Thanks to the course designer and the sticky note guys (I don't have a radio so if stuff was broadcast I would not have heard it).

So, do you still think that a good street tire (Falken) is on par with a good race tire in Sanford?

I'd also like to thank Mike for his efforts this weekend. Even though I got stuck driving the bus home, I had a nice reminder of Mike's effrots for the whole season, the new bus is running great (knock on wood), and even has working AC!

Nah, I've come around. I actually was talking to a bunch of folks and admitted as much yesterday -- the latest generation of race tires (S04, S05, V710, others) seem to be a step above the "old gen" from 2 years or so ago.

I was *amazed* at the level of grip from the V710s...

Some may disagree, but I say that was THE BEST SANFORD COURSE EVAR!!!!!!!! Great job Mike and Rob! I love any course that long. The long course walks weren't fun, but driving it sure was.

I'd also like to thank people for their patience while the timer issue was being worked out. I didn't really hear people in grid bitching about the delay. IMO with a course that good people can stomach those type of issues.

On another note Ryna and I are very happy with the new car. It handles like a go-kart with a body. The best part is we didn't have to work on it one bit all day!

Last but not least I'd like to thank Steve Remchek for his very generous offer of the fund matching for our charity cause. A very unselfish act by a great guy. Thanks again Steve!

This was a FUN course. Thanks Mike and Rob for a great design.....I also liked how the grid area was setup, good idea. The stickies table was a great thing to have...can we do that at every event? Like Dan said shifting to 3rd was interesting and fun. That also means we were going pretty freakin fast!

Great event! I think the key was griding near the entrance in order to have a longer Laurinburgish (sounds like a Euro city) course. Also, you definitely know it's a fast setup when you're bouncing off the rev limiter in an AAAARRRRRRRRR!

Now if I could only learn to memorize long courses...

i had fun... i got within a second of jim wray. i would have been very happy to beat him, but i almost spun on my last run. chris still had about 3 seconds on both of us.

i also developed an exhaust leak at some point. i think it was when i downshifted into second toward the end of my last run. im pretty sure its the flex pipe right before the cat, and i believe i have another one in storage somewhere...

other than that, it was a great event. i loved that course!!!

Noobs. Matt, with a course THAT open it's all about looking ahead. Seriously it shouldn't be a memory test at all.

I had a blast, the course was quite enjoyable, I have still have not finished out of the top 20 in pax at sanford in the past three events... of course I am still a second of Mary's pace... but oh well.

I was running the old Hosiers, ASO3's and really had no grip issues at all. In fact on my first run I tip-toed through the black part of the course but started pushing it later and seemed to have planey of grip there too.

Thanks to Dan for helping with the Worker Stuff, and for Scott J. For doing the announcing at the end of the day so I could get oacked up and home as I had to be at work at 6 last night for a firewall upgrade.

I enjoyed the course yesterday. It was next to impossible to memorize it, but was a result of the site and not a busy course. Good job. I was on 13 month old S04's and was quite impressed by the grip level there. It has come along way in a couple of years.

Yep, best Sanford course evar.

I just wanted to thank the R-compund guys for laying down rubber in the 'sealed' sections so the Street Tire guys have grip. The Good street tires still have NO WHERE near the grip of a AS304 or V710, and I reference that as as STU has a softer PAX than BS, and Whitney still was a good measure faster in a stock car with just tires (and a great driver).

The course was fast, and on my 3rd run, I hit the limiter in 3rd (78mph) heading into 'the box of confusion'. It was a great course overall, and I wish we had a tram service to get us out to work

Good job to the designers, and hopefully no more cigarette lighter fuses will be harmed in the setup of the wireless timer.

My first Sanford event (driving) and it has so far been the best Sanford event as far as I'm concerned also!!

Great course, nice and long, the 2 course walks I did were definitely rough, but helped tremendously in my eyes. I don't think I had any problems with remembering where to go, but I did apparently forget to lift at one crucial point and was one of the few (or many depending on how you look at it) that spun.

Learned a couple of things,
1) Good tires (not great but good) are better than street tires any day of the week on course
2) Watch everyone drive, not just the good drivers or the one's you like, and you can learn more on what to do and not to do at pivotal locations.
3) Change to STX so I can actually get a better PAX!! I thought I had 4th for sure yesterday (in Novice that is), but my PAX killed me. I'm glad bushings are legal for STX next year.


So, Mike, when do we get our free event? Laurinburg is in 2 weeks you know.
