Best damn FWD car

That's not saying much :)

(yes I've become a RWD snob!)

Test of RWD snobbery
Pick one:
1985 Buick Electra Station Wagon - RWD
or
2005 Mini Cooper S Works - FWD

Still a snob?

IMHO the MiniS is very good right off the showroom floor, and AWESOME if fully prepared! Downside was that when we went looking for one there wasn't a single one available in the entire Eastern US with LSD that wasn't also loaded with every other option possible and were told that they were not taking any more orders for '05s nor were any LSDs available in the dealer parts supply chain.
The good :?: news is the JCW package (210 HP!) will be a factory option in 06 rather than a trunk kit thus eligible for stock class (in SS???)

Interesting. I was under the impression that 06 production was slated until September or October. I'd think most dealers would be happy to change a stock order to a sold order.

We called every Mini dealer east of the Mississippi. Seems none ordered a stripper GTS with LSD for stock (gee I wonder why...) 06 models are not eligible for National competition until after the Championships.

What's the word on how the SVT Foci match up against the MINI's and the Celicas?

Car looks good on paper.

I'm sure the focus could be good locally (as was demonstrated in THSCC tire class a year or two ago), but I doubt it's going to cut it at the national level.

CG is too high and I don't think that Ford will let you add negative camber. Not sure about the weight either.

Now we just need the Celica GTS to get the bump to GS. Matt and Charlie are getting too fast, and I need an excuse to be slower than them!

Weight is approximately 2750, you cannot legally add negative camber, and while certainly higher than a Celica, the upright appearance of the Focus coupled with the verical tail of the hatchbacks make it look like it would have a higher C of G than it does. All Focus are the same height, yet only the hatchbacks seem to be labeled as tall.
