Jason is right if you have enough $ buying an already made car is usually cheaper than building one yourself.
But you will be missing the fun part of building it yourself if you go that route.
Jason, you should sell your car to Richard, and then buy one already made with a 6.
Both of you will then have what you are looking for!!!!

Yeah, I realize it is much cheaper to buy someone elses project that they have already dumped the money into. But I probably will enjoy the building part as much as the driving part.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

[quote="Richard Casto"]Jason,

You just don't add up the cost as you go or look at the receipts. Just live life from one bill to the next! :lol:

Yeah, I already practice that! Save NO receipts so there will be no record of how much $$ I have actually dumped into this thing.

I agree that building it yourself is far more rewarding than saving some $$ by buying someone else's project. The search for a motor continues...I am actually considering a 2.4 right now....only about 140 hp (a 50 hp gain over what I have now!), but once the peripherals are in, (oil tank/lines/mount. etc.) any flat six will go in with only small changes (tin/flywheel/wiring).

I keep mostly all the receipt for the Porsche but never had the will to add them up.
A 2.4, that's, what, was in my car when I bought it. I sold it for $2k ( Cdn$ ) when I make the switch to the 3.2 that was 6k Cdn$.
A 2.4 from a 911S or 911E will be a nice engine!!!! A S will have more HP but an E will have a better torque curve for autocross.
Anyhow it's fun to have some project to work on.
