I got very lost driving to the test and tune last month. I am coming from Holly Springs (near Apex). Can I take 401 all the way from 55 right to airbase road? Is 401 a decent road to take?

thanks

From Holly Springs, you should take 55 to US1 South, US1S towards Sanford. Then follow the "From Sanford" directions provided on the THSCC website:

From Sanford:
Take US 1 south to Southern Pines/Aberdeen.
At the south end of Aberdeen, turn left on US 15-501, continuing through Hoke County into Scotland County.
Shortly after entering Scotland County, turn left onto SR 1400, aka Hill Creek Rd. (This is about 9.5 miles from the US 1 / US 15-501 split in Aberdeen - watch carefully or you will miss it! Hint: Look for the "Pine Lake RV Resort & Campground" sign.) Follow Hill Creek Rd. into Wagram.
In Wagram, turn left onto McKay St. and follow it to the next intersection (US 401). Go directly across 401 onto SR 1403 (Riverton Rd.). Follow Riverton Rd. until the stop sign at Airban Rd.
Turn left onto Airban Rd. and follow it to the tee intersection with Airbase Rd.
Turn left onto Airbase Rd. Note that we use two different entrances, depending on the course configuration:
The old "Burch Industries" entrance is on your right about 1/2 mile after you turn onto Airbase Rd. Look for the cream-colored building.

(According to the posted event information, we'll be using the Burch Industries entrance.)

Watch closely for the entrance or you will pass it! Fortunately, the crew puts an orange cone there to draw you in.

Tony,

Post your travel timeframe & maybe someone will step up for you to caravan down with them. It is kinda "out there", but, once you get the hang of it, you won't have any problems.

Are you instructing at the nov school? If so, you could caravan down with us in the morning.
