All right, lets not highjack the other threads for the "budget" street tire cause.

First: The class isn't going anywhere, I think the event participants have voted. The largest class, bar none, at every event is street tire.

Second: Lets keep it constructive, and keep an open mind.

Third: Lets remember that the officers *do* listen to the membership.

So, what do you like/don't like, and *how* would *you* implement it differently/more fairly than we do now. If it involves more work, lets assume that YOU are stepping up to the plate to do that work!

Just because you don't like X or Y doesn't mean you are powerless. Look at D-Stock this year. I talked everyone into running street tires and it's been fun. Two people have brought cars out on race tires (Kevin Hoff and Bill Martin). They didn't spoil anyone elses fun, and pretty much in ALL instances they wish they had been on street tires (Kevin on Hoosiers in Sanford, and Bill on abused Kumho's all season, he was much better this past weekend on new Falkens).

I'm glad I didn't spoil anyone's fun with the Hoosiers at Sanford, either. I don't have a set of DS legal street tires and needed to run DS for NCAC. Somehow I don't think it would have been very fair to run 225/45/17 S-03's there...

I personally don't see what's broke with the street tire class.

People keep complaining about ringer tires or unrealistic treadwear limits but it seems to me that no matter where you put that limit some tire will be the one to have. Since we match what most other regions do there are a bunch of tires that happen to fit our rules including one that is cheap, available in a wide variety of sizes, and just about the stickiest thing available. (read Azenis!) :)
