Dick is signed up to be Miles' tire warmer and assistant since I have a lot of experience with fiberglass body cars that handle very well (Lotus and Formula Ford). FYI, Kumho Victoracers on a Vette have a LOT of grip. More than I've learned to trust . . . so far. :D

Well, I had to do something. I am obviously one of those that teaches better than he implements. I've helped both Chris and Graham become faster than I am, and I haven't improved any measurable amount in a long time. So... I had to do something. Dick knows more about this silly sport than I'll be able to absorb in a lifetime. However, I will bring my thimble sized brain to his firehose of knowledge about this stuff and try to catch as much as I can. I may not go any faster, but I know I will learn a ton. I don't have much to offer Dick in return, except that I have a car that can stay dryer than his in the rainy events!

And it gets Dick back out with us! :D It was also great to have EG back out with us on Sun and I hope we start seeing him at events again, too!

Yea, I went back and ran a 25.4 when Stacy finished all her runs and I was up there. It was a clean run this time, btw. I think the two workers who worked last in the afternoon can verify that.

Sorry Keviin, it's true. There's something fundamentally WRONG with a car being able to run the slalom in 3rd the whole way!

Do you like that time I posted in the auto-x section just a secomd behind Dan? That's when I opted out of the lane-change and hit high 3rd in the straight. No-one called that in I guess. I'll have to ty that again at the 1st event.

Oh, yeah - I was working that section & was the one who finally put the pointer cone on the second part of the lane change to clue all you goofuses in! (you weren't the only one to turn the whole thing into a straight)

We were having some radio issues, so they probably didn't hear us.

I must admit, as much as I like seeing my name up near the top of the raw list :-), my posted time of 48.3XX was a DNF as I omitted the first part of the lane change. rather than take out all the cones. Not that it would have been impossible to post that time with my car, I just don't possess the necessary skill. :(

I'm sure I'll miss some names but...

Thanks to Miles for putting it together. To Rob for also helping co-chair and doing a little bit of everything. And especially for not showing up in only an apron and hat. I think he scared Christine so bad she got another helper

Thanks for feeding us once again Christine (and whomever that was that helped you).

Thanks to Chris O. and Emmett W. for volunteering to be assistants. They did everything we asked of them and more. And not 1 complaint! And they have barely a year with the club. Those of you who don't volunteer should be ashamed of yourselves.

Thanks to staff members Scott, Ryan, Jason, Vincent, Art, Stephen W, Kevin, Dustin, Malia, Tonya, Sally (I think there were more but I forget).

The people above came down Saturday to do setup and run the event on Sunday.

Thanks for driving "The Snake" Dustin. I think we have a new name for the bus. I have another name but Mike said it was not appropriate...

Thanks to everyone who worked on the bus/trailer so it would be ready.

And thanks to all of those that chipped in Sunday where we needed you.

We now return you to your chatter about who was faster in the slalom section.

Graham (Miles victim, err, co-event chair)

I've looked at the results, and my 49.0 was due to skipping the slalom before the finish. (But I don't doubt the WRX could've run that time, if I hadn't been playing around with it so much  )

Miles,

You certainly have been a good ambassador for the sport and a true sportsman. I have appreciated your help!

Results are up. When viewing these realize that you and your competitors may have someone else's time or there may be cones/DNFs that were not included.

We were testing new timing and scoring software and auditing the results were not a priority.

The results' "fastest times" column (should they exist) do not show cones

I have no problems with this at all. I think it is great!

I now have all Miles excuses from last year. And he just gave me a bunch of free ones adding Dick as a co-pilot.

Let's see Miles has;
- a National Champion private instructor
- a tire warmer
- a free lookahead ride to check out the course
- brand new Victoracers
- more torque and a 6-speed
- Z07 special racing suspension
- white cars are faster than red cars

I have;
- no instructor (although I'm seriously going to recruit one now)
- don't want a tire warmer (can't afford 2 drivers)
- i'll have to hitch a ride with someone to see the course
- worn out old road racing tires (i get this excuse now, ha, ha)
- no low end torque and auto trans
- base soft suspension
- Chris L. and the STi make a good combo and he will be faster than me
- Rick B. is now in AS and he is faster than me
- i'm old
- i'm tired

I'm working on the rest of the excuses. I expect to be DFL this year.

Graham

Just get an STi, and join the ranks of the no talent hack AWD drivers.

Heck, an AWD Subaru got Kevin Allen the Top Gun Trophy 2 years running. Think of what an AWD Subaru could do for you!!

I don't know what you other AS drivers are complaining about . . . at least you have excuses . . . sounds like I don't have any . . . but I'm sure I'll need plenty when you young guys beat me. I think I've already had more seat time in Miles' car than my total autocross time the last couple of years!!!

Not a chance. I'm already a no talent hack in a Vette. The AWD excuse is too big a freebie.

Now that is a pipe dream... You can not escape the Miata.
They will not go away.
