With probably the 1st 40 or so being the best grip then having them fall off quite a bit for the remaining runs?

Your guess is as good as mine. I've never driven on the before. The Celica is very tire friendly, so your number seem reasonable.

I believe the estimate of 80 runs is a little high. The S04's were good for nearly 70 runs on the MR2. I would expect the 710's to be just as good. The Hoosiers did not drop off much over their life span. Especially for use at the local level. The major issue was cording the outer edge on the fronts. I run over -2.5 degrees of negative camber up front. I found by flipping the tires every 20 - 25 runs, got more use out of the fronts.

I will warn you, once you run with r-comp's you will not want to go back to street tires. I have Falken's on the Miata. Yes, I was impressed by them. But the first thought after a run was how wicked that car would be with Hoosiers (or V710's).

You and me both! I'll be there in the silver sedan, getting schooled.

Shawn,

How did you like running Victoracers on the R? Approximately how many events/runs did you get on them? Have you ever tried any other R-comp tire on it before?

I think Shawn liked the free BFG G-Force tires the best. Especially the ones he (and co-driver) ran from *brand new* to cords during an event SETUP day.

I think Shawn's run everything but Hoosiers.
