I voted drop 'em all. And I do agree that I have more fun when I'm competing. But for the night series, I compete on a night by night basis, not for any long term goal.

My recommendation is to continue to post individual event results, but I wouldn't worry about compiling season results or even calculating overall standings at the end of the season.

Sometimes I run street tires. Sometimes stickies. Sometimes it's a way to get rid of old tires that aren't competitive anymore but I can still have fun.

I have a lot of fun competing and comparing times, just like everybody else does, at each event. But because I'm not striving for anything long term, I couldn't care less personally about season points or cumulative points.

But I really, really, do appreciate Scott's work to calculate the overall pax and results for each event. I just don't think he should have to worry about season cumulative points.

Well, I've only done one or two of the night events, so I guess I don't have a lot of stake in this. However, I do think Kevin Hoff's idea makes a lot of sense.

I don't have issues with people being competitive (autocross is a competitive event, and people who get involved in it are going to compete), but I don't know that having year-end awards is all that important. After all, you all remember explicitly where you finished in every event, right?

I think the best idea is to make sure those people who invested large amounts of time and effort in making sure that events were staged correctly and gave the "customers" what they wanted get the reward that they deserve. And I'm not talking about electing them to office, either....

Just my two euros worth....

Kudos to John on a great point. This very point was the whole basis of the night events. This series is a reward or trophy in of itself for the work you have done in the past, present or will do in the near future.
