To respond to Scott's question of whether the S2000 more fun than the Miata is a tough one. Having not driven a lot of high horsepower cars certainly made the S2000 more exhilerating to drive, especially in sweepers (I think I said holy s*** a few times when the second cam kicked in). Having never driven an S2000 on an autox course I was a little worried about the two fast sweepers. As Vincent mentioned I was very busy in the big sweeper doing a lot of small countersteers all through the corner, but the car was very controllable...though that was one heck of a rush!!! Overall, I was very impressed with Rick's car, though it is certainly a handful to drive. I can understand why some of the top S2000 guys say it's the most difficult stock class car to get 10/10ths out of it. It would be very easy to get in big trouble really fast in that car.
The Miata is more exciting and fun to drive in transition (especially Donnie's new car) because it's amazing how fast you can go through those types of sections. Though the Miata is still very fun to drive in sweepers b/c it's so tight & precise, you can do whatever you want...it's like there is a direct connection between your brain and making the car respond which is tremdous fun. Considering how my brain works, that's not always a good thing
Vincent, I think our time on that fun run was a 61.5, my best in the Miata was about 60.2. So, I was pretty happy with the time. I think Rick got about 8 tenths faster on his fun run than he did in competition, so he was really cooking on his run.
