In establishing Rules regarding Novice drivers, the THSCC recognizes that every competitor aspires to improve their driving skills at our events (and have fun in the process, of course!).

Novice drivers are encouraged to "move up" to open or indexed classes as soon as is practical to create more competition in those "official" classes, and to allow truly inexperienced drivers a chance to compete against others of similar skill level.

THSCC's Novice Rule is as follows:
"Competitors are eligible for novice class if they have run three or fewer autocross events. If a novice wins a trophy at an autocross event, the driver is no longer eligible for novice class."

Although we do not currently monitor each competitor's Novice Status, it is in the spirit of good sportsman/womanship that all participants adhere to this rule.

Good reminder, Brad. I'll reinforce that point during the next event's novice meeting.

I agree. Although I only got to play in Novice for one event (Laurinburg), I enjoyed the buttkicking that I got in Street Tire class this past weekend, and the future buttkickings that I will get next season. :D
