Would you prefer that an autocross that is going to be rained on all day long is cancelled?

Guilty as charged. I still hate rain events, but points are points!

Driving in the rain separates the men from the boys, it's the great equalizer in motorsports. I think we should hold all our events in water. I'm quite fond of it you know.

What's this "our events" stuff?

Isn't your THSCC membership expired?

Does it have to be 75-80 sunny and for someone to let you co drive to meet your standards?

Let's just say that a setup like that will spoil you real quick :D

This says it all for me. I have no problem postponing an event for rain.

However, I'm with Vincent. Hold the event and I'll be there - points are points!

As the other member of RainSux Racing and the co-event chair I hate the rain, I hate driving with the hard top on, the windows fogging till I can't see the cones or running with the A/C on sapping what meager power I have. :furious:

that said I say unless it is going to rain all freaking day, and be gale force winds I vote to have it. If we postpone, I can't make it, and just think, I will have to be out in the rain for 2 days not one.

Besides, maybe Jim and his Hoosiers are slow in the rain :P

Add me to the list of...

* I love to autocross in the rain
* I hate working in the rain.

I most likely will not make it to this event this weekend due to just being plain to busy at work to get stuff ready in time. So if it was moved to a later date, I wouldn't cry about it as I most likely could make a different date. ;)

But in general I say, let it rain. As some else has said, this is not NASCAR. I think a decision this weekend should be based upon safety, and ability to put on a quality event. If it is raining so hard that the timer stuff is not working, or we have high winds, lightning, etc. then either it is going to be dangerous or the event will suck to due the difficulties of making everything work. I guess if it was to be totally obvious that nobody would show up, then I guess that would also be a valid reason to move the date.

That was my two cents.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

I commented to Mike earlier, but this will be one of the last 2 points events we hold this year. I won't be able to make the October event, so this is it for me to improve my standings (and I don't like where I'm standing!)

I say go for it. Can't say that I enjoy either working or driving in the wet, but as Vincent said....

...points is points....
