I'm praying for some dry weather to get some testing completed. I bet everyone else is hoping it'll be dry, but it looks like a crap shoot with scattered thunderstorms forecasted for the whole weekend.

The big question is, why did Kevin bail out on running STS? - AB

several reasons

- I drove Scott Sawyer's car & found out how badly the RS sucks at autox
- decided to stop spending so much money on autox, because my ultimate motorsports goal is Rally
- suspected engine cooling system problem with the autox car (possibly major)
- I really should stay home & do some other important stuff that's going on Saturday
- I may be doing a rallycross with the DC Rally group on Sunday
- no other Subarus were signed up, and I was mainly going to see if I could improve vs. those guys

At this point, the silver RS has been demodified, and is now totally stock other than the Koni strut inserts. I've put a rally suspension on the blue RS & will be rallycrossing, autocrossing & doing track events on that one. When I get the silver one repaired, it will be the street car again, as I had originally intended it to be.

I may do some big events next year, but not the huge schedule that I had started planning. I'm getting pretty excited about racing on dirt now, and I'm going to focus on that (until I change my mind again - nah, j/k).

Rain stayed away almost the entire weekend except for a brief shower during the lunch break before the third rungroup on Sun. The wet concrete made some slipping and sliding for the Jr karts, but the sun returned and it dried before the real cars took to the course. Otherwise it was VERY hot and humid.
ACU4 is a VERY KHUL SITE! where else can you be distracted by a passing pod of dolphins jumping while walking course?

It's a nice site, but a terrible autocross surface. Not a lot of grip out there. Best bet is to not try to tune new tires for Nationals there. - AB

Yep...we would have picked up others, but we still had tires to change, people waiting for us for dinner and we were exhausted besides. Hope those that attended had a great time! Good thing we left when we did, that storm was headed in.

It sprinkled right as my group was getting ready to run. Fortunately it didn't amount to much and just made a mess of the windshield twice. I just wanted the same conditions that open had run in so I could compare times.

Looked like you made some good runs though. Looked like good competition in STS what little I got to see since we were running fairly close together. Baker and Allen have been on their game as of late, especially Doug. He's really improved his driving leaps and bounds over the last couple seasons. On the Hoosiers there was quite a bit of grip for us, but I think you were on Falkens, right? I'm sure that would have been different.

And again thanks for working impound for me. I hope you showed Doug a thing or two about it so he can work there again sometime.

I don't think it was all car.

After looking at the results, I don't feel so bad about losing to Terry Baker & the BMW when I went up there a few months ago. Figured he'd do pretty well, but didn't expect he'd beat all the Civics.

I've seen Baker drive the BMW before at a VMSC event; I don't mind getting taken to the shed by you or Buckley (or even Brown) by a second or three, but getting whipped by 4 seconds on a 60 second course made me feel bad. (57.329 vs 61.170)

The Sunday course did favor the higher hp cars. A long, long straight right off the start and a long uphill straight into the finish. Terry is a very good driver and a great all around guy. He has always been fast in his BMW's. just keeping them together is the tough part

Valuable lesson learned...sticker Hoosier S04's suck! I had to scrub a new set in on Sunday. I hate losing by 15/1000th of a second over the course of 2 days
