Yes, now you can get your very own set of Hoosiers at 40% off. Hoosier is clearing out the S03's. The quantities are limited. And your sanity may be questioned. But you can run real race tires and display cool stickers.

Interesting. They still onlyhave 249 of the 215/40/16 tires in stock. Not a good sign for those of us who really wanted S04's in that size for nationals. Of course, they never said they'd be available by then, so this isn't a surprise. The surprise is they've only sold like 50 of those tires in the last four months. :(

I hate working the course at autox and I must tell you about it, often.

How big a deal would it be to get the R version but use them for autox?

They have a ton of R versions for my car so maybe in a month or so the price will drop even more. I'd grab a set and sit on them until next year.

My experience with the R version is that they are similar in grip to a Victoracer or the like when cold. They definitely last longer. For regional use (in warm weather only) I'd not hesitate.

Brian Garfield, who used to run a 10ae Miata, and now runs Mini's in multiple classes, will only run the R version of Hoosiers, and he's had no problem winning on them at National level events. They will last longer, and will handle the heat better. Overall grip on concrete probably would be very little difference to an A, but on asphalt it could be more pronounced. - AB

Good luck actually getting any. I spent 3 stints on hold yesterday at about 20 minutes each. Got dropped all 3 times.

Rumor on autocrossforum.com is that Tire Rack bought the remaining supply of the S03s. Word is that Tire Rack will be selling them at the discounted price plus a few bucks to cover cost.

I can't confirm this but it might be worth a shot.
