Whew-Hoo!! Dan's out of AS?? That means that I move up one position!!!! Yeah, baby. Instead of last place/7th I'll now be last place/6th. Hey, wait...who's going to set the example on how I should be driving my STi in AS? Damn...

Seriously, congratulations. I remember you talking about the car in Sanford. Glad it came through for you.

Regards, Chris

Well, I do still have some unfinished business in AS 8) I'll likely run a couple more events in the STi this year, and occasionaly next year.

Damn I am jealous. I have been looking for one the last week or so. What a deal! If anyone happens to see anymore around let me know. I would be willing to spend 2k or so on one that the body is in okay shape and the engine runs.

My wife would simply answer ... too many!!

I'm sure there are a few others in the club who buy cars for themselves, more often than I do. But since Ryan asked I've bought 7 different autocross cars in the past 6 years. As far as running in the same class for an entire year, I know I've done it at least once :D I can't recall exactly how many different classes I've run in but I'm sure its quite a few :)

Anyway, who else would like to join the soon to be popular STS2 class?

Jim P., if you were to join it which car would you choose to run?

Let me know about the seats if you do plan to get rid of them... or any other parts not needed.

Likewise, I'm still thinking of doing a mostly-complete conversion for my DX, so if you have extra parts, let me know.

At the local level, hands down the Miata. Simply because it is a lot of fun to drive and it is rear wheel drive. Now the question is early versus late Miata. I would tend toward a 93 with the LSD. I would want every advantage to get the power down. The only other way is to stiffen the car up, but you give up front end bite. Not a great trade off. I speak from knowledge there.

If you want to run at the National level, wait a few months and see how the class shakes out. The Civics are so strong in CSP, they may be the car to have in STS2.

STS2 is one option I am looking at. The upside is that is that it is cheap and should be competitive. The downside, Jonathan Roberts' STS2 Miata :)
Plus I am looking at BS and FS....

If anyone is interested in buying a miata to set up, and hasn't already seen the post quoted below from the email list you may want to check it out. The 92 is the year I was looking for when I found a deal on the '91
that I just couldn't pass up. :D

"It seems to be the time to sell a Miata, so I'm wondering if there are any shoppers in the Club.

I have a black 1992 with 100,000 miles which runs fine. I installed a Hard Dog double bar for the only driving school I took. It also has the trailer hitch kit. Anybody interested to negotiate a price?

I would also consider selling my 1994 R-edition. Laguna blue, 14" alloys. 85,000 miles. This car looks great and drives even better. Again, anybody interested in negotiating a price?

Contact me online or call 781-9948 if you have any interest.

Randy

Hell, he even was winning in a SVT Contour -- what's that like?

Ok, pics of the CRX can be found here, the camera battery died or I would have got more :(

http://24.136.241.76/DSMAutox/

I got the title, but the kid couldnt find the damn key :( Anyone had to deal with that before? I dont think it will be THAT hard. I think the transmission is TOAST, its REAAALLLLY hard to shift, its not grinding, but the movement is REALLY stiff. The oil doesnt appear to have coolant in it and the coolant doesnt have oil in it.

Im planning on a blow by blow build up aka Scott Johnson and the Celica, so be prepared to be pestered :)

Well, I got my Miata this weekend!!! Now it is time to start getting the turbo off and getting the car ready for next year. I'll post pics as soon as I can get some taken.

You guys want to bring out your STS2 cars for the season ending non points event as kind of a preview of next year? I think I can have my car mostly ready by then.
