Please note that THSCC has changed the date of the Novice School and Points event #3 to May 6th for the Novice School with the Points event #3 on May 7th. It will still be at Danville Regional Airport.

We had a conflict with Mother's Day and wanted to make sure that everyone can spend time with Mom.

Thanks

Rob

I do, and I could be home in time after the autocross to take her out to dinner, lol.

I had made the on call schedule at work that I’m not on call when there is an event, now you just change it to when I’m on call.

I think a lot of people are a little disappointed this happened this way, people planned around the schedule as it came out and now some people just aren't going to make it.

Everything that we, the autox VP's do, we do in the hopes that it's the best outcome for the club. The take away from this forum stream is to never schedule an event on a holiday, major or minor, unless we have not further choices. Also, once the schedule is set, don't change it unless you absolutely have to or if the safety of the participants is at risk, such as our recent TNT cancellation due to an ominous forecast for snow. That being said, we are a volunteer organization whose officers conduct club business on the side with a limited amount of time. We do so because we realize that if we don't, these events don't happen. We love to autox! :soap: With that said, I nominate Chad Culbertson for autox VP 2018.

I'll take responsibility for this. I should have noticed when the schedule came out it was mother's day but I don't have kids so I get no reminder until people start saying they are committed to their mom's. I apologize for the confusion and tried to do this as soon as I could so plans can change.

Sorry guys.

As with anything, there is some portion of people that won't be able to make it to the old date and some to the new. It happens.

We made a mistake scheduling over mothers day, and we did out best to correct it. We feel like the attendance will be better if we don't conflict with mothers day.

Could we have caught it earlier on, yes. But we didn't. Our bad.

Win some, lose some. This will make Sunday easier for me, but I'll be at the Pinehurst Concours on Saturday the 6th.

I manage to swap On-call with a co-worker, I am On-call the following week now.

Spot on. A volunteer club which is composed of humans.
An honest human mistake on a date which was appropriately corrected upon discovery. This was the best solution to the issue.
New date will work out better for some and less good for others.

I appreciate the humble "our bad" from leadership when a mistake is made!

FWIW, I was going to have to miss the original date because it conflicted with NC State's commencement (I'm required to appear at those as a faculty member), but now I can make it. So it's always a mixed bag I guess.
