Is there a hotel that THSCC prefers/uses while in Rockingham?

Having stayed in Rockingham last year, I think the answer would be "none."

If I spend the night this year, I'll really consider paying a premium and heading back to Southern Pines/Aberdeen.

I agree with Scott on this. The selection of places in Rockingham is slim and none. Actually, Rockingham is little or no further than Laurinburg. I am not sure if there is a real reason to stay overnight, if you would not for Laurinburg.

Add to the fact that the Rockingham site will lend itself more to a real autocross course, you should be able to get a bunch of course walks in.

And that would be what? An MR2 course?

Unless that sealer stuff was removed on the lot next to the grandstand it will be like driving on glass anyway.

Every course is an MR2 course...because it is a sports car. I would rather drive on glass than gravel. :) Last year I did not find any where that is was real greasy. No more than the RBC site. And I was on 6 month old Hoosiers with 50 plus runs on them. And if those things are not slick, then nothing is.

I agree with Jim, after the morning runs, I found that there was plenty of grip. That was also with OLD, OLD Hoosiers.

Amy - see the post about the drag races for hotel info. I'm going to start another "official" thread about the autocross soon.
