Nah, some cops did drive by super late, but they didn't even stop. Brice called up the Cary PD and one of our contacts for the mall security was an off-duty cop.

We had a boatload of walk ups and people watching, though. I'd say that the response was overwhelmingly positive and we didn't catch too many swim moms and dads shooting daggers with their eyes at us.

As for the CPD, I saw one driving by during fun runs and yelled out if he wanted to run. He pulled in and I was able to talk to him for a moment. Offered the opportunity to either drive or ride, but he passed on both. He was aware we were there to drive, but that's about all of the conversation. He did sit there for a while and watched. Wished they'd come out sooner and mixed it up a bit w/ the club and spectators.

Everything went GREAT! They are interested in working with us next year, we just need to figure out when some of our "anchor" sites will be available. Generally, I will rent VMP and NCCAR whenever they are available, considering how limited dates can be there. Then we can plan a variety of Danville, Cary, Fayetteville?, or Laurinburg (haha, probably not) as we continue to pursue other possibilities as well. Continue to keep your eyes open, I think Cary could serve as a great publicity tool as we try and pursue other local sites. Many of you may remember Ken George from some of our events along with his sons. He is a recently elected member of Cary Town Council and a great ally for us, along with the management at Cary Towne. They may want to bring some bleachers and publicity our way next year!

The video from the drone was from a local vendor, Benchmark Tool and Supply. They did agree to send me the footage once they had a chance to edit it. I'm anxious to see what they got as well.

So Brice, were any of the CTC staff there to watch the event? If so, what comments did they have? Curious as to what they had to say...

Quick Q. I'm pretty sure I know the answer but I'm looking for validation.

Cones that are laying down on their own, no upright cone next to them, are purely informative and should not be used for +1s or DNFs.

fixed and correct. Unless hitting a lay-down cone put you so far off line as to miss the following element

Let the non-record show that I unofficially beat Andrew in his own car with a 40.1. Someone called a DNF on me for blowing through the line of pointers after right turn to go around again.

There's no evidence of such a thing taking place. Do not believe James' lies.

Thanks to every one that had anything to do with this event! It was even better to shut Jason Watts up saying he could out drive me. It was great.

Left some time on the table right at the end, I blame that on carrying more speed as I got a bit braver to get into the throttle earlier on. Still learning what it means to not have near instant throttle oversteer, lol.

Here's my first run where I remembered last second I need to go right not left, haha.

I called the cops on us. Called Friday to let them know what's up, since I was sure someone else would if we didn't. CTC was ecstatic with how well things went too. Cary will be on next years calendar for sure based on what I am hearing so far.

Man, your run looks way more smooth than my best. That single cone before the lane change really messed with my head.

Yeah, I saw you want to try and go to the wrong side of it. I was flat out pretty much through the L box until the brake zone. I needed to brake a bit earlier or harder though, I wound up pushing too wide at the last turn.
