Wow, you guys are awesome! I posted flamebait and y'all are trying to understand and make sure I'm not just being a moron!
So a bit of context that may help (and you're probably not going to like this too much either):
I'm working on moving to the mountains and will eventually (possibly anyway) be living far enough outside of town that transportation up/down mountains in the winter months may be a problem. The 'vette would just be right out in those conditions. I'm looking to move sometime this fall. I'll be something like 2:15 away from Danville after the move assuming everything goes the way I think it will.
I do plan to keep autocrossing. I'm uncertain about modding a WRX as I've not been into that previously -- I'm much more into just having a good time with what I've got. Although after reading what a stage 1 ECU flash can do... and how it makes the gas pedal more linear in power application instead of the silly "the pedal is halfway down but the car is applying 90% of available power" thing that gets done these days, I'm definitely considering mods... at least the easy ones. A bit worried about what I'd need to do to make the car competitive if I do flash the ECU, but I'll deal with that later if it even comes up.
