Good call Steven. Those light poles are pretty unmoveable. 8)

A course with one of those sections where you're on the limiter for more than a few blips in the wet could get dicey.

Just a quick thought for consideration. Given the weather forecast and developing tropical storm that may be near or just north of us at the time of the event, it may be wise to ask that CCR people about what course modifications work for a rain event. They have run several events in the rain there, and know what works and what is too high risk given the decreased amount of grip and cambered aspect to the site.

It certainly can't hurt to have a modified rain/wet friendly course in mind should the need arise to make changes on the fly.

(Said while standing in the corner)
Or....it's kinda like the "bring an umbrella so it won't rain" Murphy's Law-type phenomenon that I experience frequently. WCNC shows no rain and partly cloudy while weather.com says 80-90% chance of rain for the wknd. Sigh. Brad Panovich better be right!

Buy your fresh rain tires now...either it works and the sun will shine or you'll be set for the deluge. The compounds used on the RE71R and RivalS are supposedly very good in the rain, especially since it won't be too cold. RE71Rs it is.

Lot of time left but the isolated front coming up the gulf should bring rainfall and Joaquin is expected to continue heading east before gaining power and turning north.

Hmmm, may be a good time to toss what's left of my euro Prius tires for a nice set of DWSes that I'll need for this winter's ice storm(s) if it's going to be anything like the last two seasons.

Anyone need a roomie? My wife isn't gonna make it, meaning I am open to a roommate if someone wants to hop in (I already have a room booked). No spooning included (costs extra).

I promised myself I wasn't going to comment anything NCAC ever again but damn, just damn. Whoever made that course map deserves heel of the year. Hell, maybe even decade.

Is that the map or some God-tier trolling? I suppose either way it's God-tier trolling.

Like there isn't already?

There's no pleasing some folks. I heartily support "STFU and learn to drive". There are lots of course elements I hate, but I'll only comment where I see danger. (turning at high speed near a pole, for example.)

I looked at the course map which I assume is what we are going to run. It looks like a typical THSCC styled course. I've run a few NCAC's in the past and I found those courses lacking the elements I was used to. Come to find out, those types or courses is more in tune to nationals style courses, basically a mini track course.

I have to say I personally enjoy our courses in that there is more coming at you in regard to elements. You can't be asleep at the wheel. The NCAC courses were more sweeping in nature. Ours are more sharp in that you are constantly having to be prepared for the next "gotcha". I like the way we set up courses. If that causes us to be outside of the norm for setups, so be it. And to Brice's statement, we constantly invite anyone to setup a course which gives us an incredible amount diversity in regard to courses.

There are many outspoken folks that are criticizing us for our methods and setup because we're a little outside of the box. To that I say please come up to NCAC and try it. I don't understand the folks that are bailing simply due to a different course setup.

So who is this Roger Johnson chap folks are talking about on the roadraceautox forum?

Is he the L. Ron Hubbard of autocross? Because that's the vibe I'm getting...
